Rowena

Soft, labored pants can just barely be heard beneath a moss covered growth in the earth. At a glance, it appears the moss is just covering a blemish in the earth, but upon closer inspection, it becomes evident that the moss is merely a curtain, concealing a hollowed out cave of sorts. Inside, a woman with long, blushed locks struggles to steady her breathing as to avoid her persuants. Her jade eyes flick forward as the thumps of multiple feet draw near, scattered amongst the earth. Suddenly all falls quiet, aside from the the maidens' pounding heart. With her back pressed to the rigid wall, she becomes one with the shadows, sure not to make even the slightest sound "Oh come Rowena, we haven't got all day. The sooner you comply, the sooner we can all get back to our lives, well" the voice pauses for a moment, "Except for you, that is" Rowena softly murmurs an incantation as her eyes glow an ominously powerful purple hue. The moss concealing her from the agressor took on the consistency of a mountainside, shielding the others from reaching her or catching her scent. Unbeknownst to Rowena, it was a fatal mistake. "There you are, little mouse." The voice calls out, taking on a feverish tone. "You honestly can't be so foolish as to think using magic in my vicinity would go undetected" Rowena curses under her breath, yet remains completely still and silent. There is a long pause before the agressor can no longer stand the wait. "Very well then" they whisper harshly. A few seconds pass. Just as Rowena thinks they may have lost interest, the cave entrance erupts into plumes of dust and debris. She closes her eyes quickly and shields herself by tucking her head into her arms to avoid inhaling there cloud of uplifted dirt. Footsteps can be heard entering the newly lit cave, shadows are tucked to the farthest corners of the wall where Rowena waits in hiding. "Now now, all you had to do was tell me where you hid MY book, you putrid little wench" she snarled, lips peeled back as she spoke. Rowena peered out of a space between her arms to gaze at the woman before her. The sunlight glinted off of her almost gold-like hair which was firmly tied up in a bun. She donned a black deep v neck dress with sleeves resting just slightly above her wrist and a single slit half way up the left thigh. As Rowena lowered her arms to fall to her side, she stepped out from the shadows beaming a nervous smile "Well, ya see er.. I don't seem to recall having such a book. Ya must have the wrong witch. No worries, I forgive ya!" With a bright smile and a nod, Rowena made an attempt to make an exit. But not before feeling fingers wrap around her arm, pulling her firmly in place. "Not so fast Red, I don't think you quite understand the dilemma we're in here" her striking azure eyes locked with Rowena's gaze as she cleared her throat and spoke "I killed, let's see" she cocks her head to the side and narrows her eyes as if to ponder "Ah yes, 9 witches just to get my hands on it" Rowena gulps nervously "But what harm would one more be?" She grins devilishly before reaching to a holster on her side containing a thorn-like dagger thaaaaat seemed to lust for blood. "Wait!" Rowena called out, raising her hands "I'll get you the damned book, but!" She exclaimed. "Only under the condition I get to go on my merry little way once it's returned" The blond considers the offer before nodding once in approval "Fine. However, I also have a condition" She calls out an incantation but nothing seems to happen. Suddenly Rowena feels her body change in stature, as if she's shrinking almost" She looks down in horror to see paws covered in black and crimson fur "What in the bloody hell have you done?!" She shrieks, toppling over her newly adjusted hind legs. "Simple. I've ensured you don't take off with my book is all. You have every motivation to return my book now, or be cursed to live there rest of your days as a little doggy" She reaches down to roughly pet Rowenas' head before stepping towards the entrance of the cave. "Now, go fetch" she snickers before stepping away and out of view. Rowena sits there, completely taken aback by what just transpired before looking into the distance and whispering harshly "Bollocks!"
