Ransom
While the pack had forbidden wolves other than Duluths to take the position of Auger, the former Auger made a surprising exception on his death bed, by making the mate of his daughter Alaska his next in line. Alaska was his only surviving daughter and at the time, her presence in the pack as a Governess was something they could not afford to lose. Thus in a curious turn of events, Ransom took his wife's last name and led with her by his side as an unspoken leader.
His past is checkered... Born outside of Silent Haven to a brutal pack much further in the mounts, he was trained to be a merciless machine up until his adolescence. He changed when he met Alaska during a scouting expedition, and she "saved" his soul. Details are unclear and frankly, it's suspected to be a romanticized version of what truly happened, though what truly happened is unknown.
Regardless, Ransom became one with the pack and not long after, was given the sacred title of Auger.
Despite his past, his outward characteristics are one of a humble wolf, not an aggressor nor one to seek out social interactions outright. He is a hermit of sorts, fitting to the underground sanctum of the mines, and he is notably very protective of his family. Many wolves in the pack are young, and see Ransom as a leader who brought prosperity back to their pack that was previously dying a slow death- thus they have surmounting respect for him and his wife Alaska.
However, there is a part of him he hides underneath his humble skin, a part that he prays to "The One" to keep buried deep in his soul...
