Name: Beren (bear-en)
Background: Beren's mother was young, inexperienced and single. When he and his two littermates began to wander, as puppies do, she eventually lost them despite her best efforts. Beren was never found, and has no idea how to return to where he was from.
Personality: Beren is a friendly soul. Not easy to rile and happy to help, most enjoy or at least tolerate his presence. He has a bit of a knack for diffusing arguments and resolving tense situations between packmates. Beren is a hard worker and strongly desires to provide for and protect his loved ones, and anyone else who relies on him. Beren is not easily frightened or offended - he's usually both too confident in his strength and too relaxed for most things to get to him. He's unfortunately not very quick to figure things out on his own, however, but at the same time never fails to remember what he is taught. His willingness to learn often makes up for this lack of wit and cunning or natural aptitude.

Year 1, Autumn
- Only four months of age, beren is discovered near Highrange territory when Araya hears his pitiful wailing. Thinking immediately of her own lost daughters, she adopts the distraught child on the spot, whisking him back to the den.
- Beren gets along fairly well with almost everyone, but becomes especially close with Araya and Kronor - his surrogate parents. When Enna arrives some time later, Beren is quick to befriend her as well.
Year 1, Spring
- Beren officially joins the hunting party as the muscle needed to kill the prey once it is exhausted.
