You compliment Lovegrass on their skills lately. They seem bashful, mumbling about how you're a great leader to look up to.
Lovegrass sits by your side, shoving a small gift in front of you. They want to see your reaction, saying that your joy is like a gift to them.

Lovegrass was adopted into the Opposed by their youngest adult member, Solas. She was found hiding in her namesake as Solas and her pack moved through the forest, and was only noticed when her adoptive mother stumbled over her. Another product of the Cereus Pack's widespread conquest, Lovegrass was swept along and trained to become a member of the Opposed. Growing up a part of the nomadic little pack of survivors was interesting, to say the least. She had learned a little of everything in order to be given the best chance in the wilderness. As such she was a competent hunter, great tracker and she could even identify and apply herbs.
Things had settled down not long after she had come of age and become an official member of the pack. At that point she was ready to make a bit of a change, and almost immediately had taken up new training with the pupsitters of the pack. Whistle and Faleeah had been all too happy to share their knowledge-- and their charges-- with Lovegrass. She took up Whistle's group of pups when the old pupsitter's time had come.
Now the young pupsitter's only concerns were where her pups were getting off to and how she could entertain them each day. It was a fun and rewarding job, for all its hardships. Sometimes pups were lost, or had to leave to become foundlings elsewhere. Sometimes just cleaning up after them was a slog. But they were curious and crafty. They loved listening to Lovegrass' stories and playing games with her.
As if summoned by her thoughts, a gaggle of young pups tumbled to her paws and began to beg for a game. Lovegrass raised an eyebrow at little Solidago, whose overambitious mother was so disappointed in his fun-loving and flighty nature that she had practically dumped him on her to keep. The little gray pup waggled his tail in the air and she batted him with a paw.
"Tag! You're it, go get them!" Lovegrass barely barked before the little pup was on his brother's heels and all of the others were scattering to the four corners of the hollow. She had a moment's regret at sending them running all over the place, then shook her head. This bunch was generally good at not getting themselves lost. They would be fine.
"I really don't understand why you do that. You're just going to have to chase them all down again and they will learn nothing," a cold voice sounded close by Lovegrass' ear. She turned to see Sorcor's unwavering black gaze staring back at her.
"My responsibility is not to constantly be teaching them. You know this. My job is to give them a bit of well deserved fun here and there when they aren't in their lessons, and their lessons haven't begun for the day. Stop being difficult."
Sorcor's face flickered first to irritation-- probably at himself, Lovegrass knew-- and then to a softer expression. Not a smile. He wouldn't go that far, of course. It was, however, one of understanding and apology as he said simply, "of course."
For a time the pair sat there in silence, Lovegrass enjoying the warm breeze of spring and Sorcor shifting uncomfortably. Lovegrass eyed him sidelong with a soft smile and said, "something on your mind?"
Sorcor relaxed fractionally and replied evenly, "no," but he went on nonetheless, "It's simply that it's as easy as ever to speak to strangers, especially if I'm simply performing diplomatic duties, but it's proven a slight challenge to reconnect with my own pack after... the incident."
"The incident where you made a mistake and are struggling to overcome it," Lovegrass prodded gently. "I find that if one accepts their shortcomings, speaks plainly about them and then asks for help in so many words... that is when they are able to rectify them." The pupsitter gazed up at her mate with a look that said 'I love you but you're ridiculous' and continued, "don't feel that because you say it you're failing. In fact, owning up to it will only help you to move forward and regain trust."
Now Sorcor's expression slackened completely and his eyes shut painfully for a moment. Lovegrass hated the moment of happiness that look brought her because he trusted her enough to be vulnerable for just a split second in front of her. He must've seen her smile when his eyes opened because he gave a sardonic chuckle and nodded, "when I made the mistake of completely ruining everything all by myself which has led to me failing to reconnect with a pack that is getting over a hatred of me." By the end of this statement, Lovegrass was oddly but pleasantly surprised to see him genuinely smiling back at her.
"I... suppose, yes," she gave her own bewildered chuckle and sat up to bump his shoulder with her own, "trust me, if I can get over it, they will, too. Just give them time." She turned to gaze into his black void eyes until he surprised her and probably the whole pack by suddenly licking her nose and then jumping up like a pup to chase after Solidago and the rest of the young pups. Lovegrass only stared after him thinking this must be a good sign, right?
