Maple

Maple was born to a pair of wild wolves who roamed the forests of the Pacific Northwest. Her early life was spent frolicking in the woods and rivers with her siblings. Her parents taught her how to hunt and survive in the wild, but she was always a bit scatterbrained and tended to get lost easily.

As she grew older, Maple began to explore further and further from her home territory. She met other wolves and even some bears, but her best friend was a coyote named Scrappy. Scrappy was always getting into mischief and dragging Maple along with him. Maple never minded though, she always found Scrappy's antics amusing.

One day, while Scrappy and Maple were exploring a new part of the forest, Scrappy stumbled into a trap set by hunters. Maple howled for help, but by the time help arrived, Scrappy had been badly injured. Maple stayed by his side until he died, vowing to never forget her best friend and to always be more careful in the future.
