Any pawprints left in your wake would inevitably be covered within the hour as the deep fog and near constant snowfall worked to erase any evidence of your passing.
You couldn't be sure when she appeared beside you, pale fur laced with the blue essence of moonlight, a warmth emanating from her very being, cloaking you in her gentle embrace.
"You've strayed far from your home." She speaks from all around you, voice echoing faintly inside your skull, though you see no evidence of her mouth opening. "Come, I will find somewhere for you to wait out the storm."
