Ghost is getting ready to leave her pack, she is the Princess of her pack but they understand that she has never wanted to stay in one pack her whole, she can't wait to travel. She loves it and all of her friends but she wants to see the world, meet other wolves.
---------------------------------------------------------------
Valley Of Fire State Park, Nevada
20/10/22 -- 25/10/22
Ghost looked around. A thick, hazy fog surrounded her, and she could hear her own breathing. Ghost noted that she was in some sort of valley or canyon. It was eerie. Noticing movement, her eyes darted to a gray vixen. The vixen was adorned in jewelry, and gold marks stood out on her face. Her green eyes seemed as hazy as the fog around her.
Ghost growled, wary of the odd intruder. The vixen then stumbled from the shadows, mumbling mysteriously.
"Lands afar you shall see,
facing great cruelty,
through hardship shall be glee,
making one as wise as can be."
Ghost felt herself begin to tremble. She desperately looked for somewhere to go. Her vision began to narrow, and she could only see to her right. A wave of blood washed over her and--
The adolescent awoke with a gasp. Ghost glanced around, relieved. It was just a dream, nothing to actually worry about. Now that the nightmare was over, she could continue her journey. As the sun dawned, Ghost felt the desert's warmth refresh her.
She had never been some place so warm. It was curious, although she wished she could find more water. Ghost saw a small waterfall and rushed over, lapping up the rather murky water quickly.
In her ignorance, she hadn't noticed the cougar, flanking from the left. The feline leaped at her while she was unaware, it's claws digging into the side of her face. Ghost let out a panicked whimper, trying to throw the cougar off. She felt blood trickle down her muzzle, and it was clear the cat was winning the battle.
Just then, an apricot-colored wolf flung himself into the fray. Yanking the cat from it's grasp, his jaws tore at the cougar as if it was a mere toy. The feline, suffering grave injuries, scampered off. Blood stained the sand and the two wolves, who now stood face-to-face.
Ghost could hardly see him, and he looked at her somewhat sadly. She realized it had come true, the dream. The cougar. The blood. She was unable to see from her left eye... if it was even still there. But where was the mysterious fox?
The concerned wolf introduced himself as Kaleho, and convinced her to come with him since his pack had an herbalist. This was how Ghost stumbled into the Kohana Pack, where she would stay while her scars healed. What she hadn't expected to see in his pack, however, was the mysterious fox.
"Who are you?" The words escaped her mouth, although Ghost tried to hold them back. The vixen turned, offering a small smile.
"I'm Aisling the Augur." Noting Ghost's worried and perplexed look, she added. "In simple terms, a seer."
Ghost couldn't believe it, and hammered the seer with questions. Her answers were vague, which only perplexed Ghost more.
Ghost learned many things also relevant to daily life. For one, she learned what wolfdogs, coydogs, and dingos were. The Kohana Pack wasn't just wolves, as proven by Aisling's prescence. Ghost also learned how to survive in a barren land, by locating groundwater and trailing animals through sand. But most of all, she learned how to make friends with the other pack wolves.
When her time came to go, she was met with many tears, nuzzles, and best wishes.

Ghost headed back north, following the paths she'd originally taken from her home. Still uncertain with her limited sight, she kept her blind side to the river as she approached the familiar lush landscape of the forests. On the outskirts of the treeline she met a small black wolf, who Ghost was quick to make conversation with. The wolf was mostly silent, but told her of a nearby pack, Pont-y-Rhedyn, which would likely be willing to accomodate her. They walked together for a while, with Ghost chattering on about her time with the Kohana Pack. She spoke of her injury, of her concern over her lack of sight. Finally, the stranger spoke in a soft, quiet voice, "Don't worry, young one. A good friend of mine was just like you, scarred and blinded. Yet she still went on to lead the pack. You'll be just fine." No sooner than had she finished, the pair approached a clearing with several wolves at its center. With a yip and a jump, Ghost bounded towards the group. By the time she stopped to turn and say goodbye to her companion, the strange wolf had already vanished.
The pack's leader Eos welcomed her warmly, setting her up in the herbalists den with Pia so that she could monitor her wounded eye. As Ghost started to familiarise herself with the pack, she only grew increasingly confused. Not only did the pack leader not have a blind eye, none of the pack members seemed to. She approached Eos once more, telling her of the mysterious black wolf and the supposed blind leader. Eos only tilted her head slightly and smiled, "You must have met Ysbryd. She's a very old friend of ours. The wolf she spoke of has been gone for a long time." Eos sat with her for a while, and talked of the spirits that guided the pack. A black wolf named Ysbryd, a white one named Golau. A small pup with glowing eyes and a tall wolf-beast with long claws and antlers. Absolutely enraptured by the talk of these spirits, Ghost demanded to know more. Eos only chuckled and shooed her out of her den.
Luckily for her, Pont-y-Rhedyn had no shortage of adolescents willing to cause trouble. They were more than happy to show her the valley, to tell her of all the most haunted spots and the supposed spirits that frequented them. Alongside this she also started to study herbalism with Pia, who first taught her how to craft balms to sooth her eye before moving onto cures for other ailments. As her peers started to age up and take on more resposibilities within the pack, preparing for winter and the coming year, Ghost decided it was time for her to move on. With many tears and heartfelt farewells, she once again followed the river out of the valley.

Ghost spent weeks wondering north, until the air bit at her nose and the earth chilled her paws. Here, in lands scarce of life, few packs were willing to let her stay, and instead chased her upon sight. It wasn't until she found the Loopis pack that she felt even remotely welcome somewhere, and even then they kept her at a distance at first.
After a few days living on the edges of the pack, she was invited in to dine on a fresh kill.
Over the next few days she learnt the harsh ways of this northern pack, shadowing their hunting teams, mixing herbs, and scouting the southern territories. She was never allowed to pupsit, though, and it struck her a little odd when they had so few to go round. Numerous times she thought to ask the pack leader, Juneau, about it, but every time she mustered the courage, it faltered and died away, like a summer breeze. It was late one evening, whilst skirting the edge of the territory on sentry duty that she stumbled across the answer (or, rather, she stumbled across a young male wolf who had the answer).
Ghost lived up to the name far more than she ever could have hoped to - in the evening mist his pallid pelt blended into the greying twilight, his blush of a nose the only discernible thing about him. At first she'd been taken aback, her hackles raising in aggression, before her ears flattened back in confused embarrassment as he chuckled at the sight of her.
"Calm yourself, stranger, if anything I should be the one snarling. Who are you?"
Indignantly Ghost had straightened up, keeping her good eye to him. "Ghost. You?"
He had seemed pensive a moment, cocking his head to one side before studying her carefully. "Ghost," he'd eventually mirrored.
"Yes," she'd snapped, "who are you?"
A small smile had ghosted across his pale muzzle. "I am also Ghost. You must be new?"
She eyed him warily. "Just passing through."
"Ah," he smirked. "Long enough to be trusted near the pups, or not?"
The expression on her face must've given something away, because he seemed amused by it, and he stalked closer - too close, and she snapped at him.
"Watch it" he growled, but Ghost stood her ground. "I'm a part of this pack, but I guess you didn't know that. I guess you don't know a lot about us."
"I've been here a few weeks and I've never seen you around."
"Of course you wouldn't, I'm not from Main Pack."
"Main Pack?"
"Ghost," a growl reverberated through the darkness. Both of them turned at the sound of their name, watching the dark shape materialise into Juneau. With eyes only for the pale wolf, she gestured over her shoulder with a flick of her head. "The hunting team are waiting for you and Druid to take over for the night. Hurry up, your father is exhausted."
"Yes Ma'am," he dipped his head in deference, and slipped away into the night.
Silence stretched out between the two she-wolves, neither of them moving. Finally, Juneau nodded to herself. "You did good, Ghost, to challenge him like that. He can be somewhat… unfriendly to strangers. Perhaps I might trust you with a pup or two after all."
As they were walking back to the den, she finally found the courage to ask.
"I trusted a strange wolf, once, with our pups… it did not end… well." The words seemed difficult for Juneau to say, but eventually she managed to relay the story of how most of two litters were stolen by Nanuq, a white wolf they had mistakenly trusted. When she was finished, a sickness settled in the pit of Ghost's stomach. It reminded her how cruel life could be.
The next morning she could not shake the misery that settled over her, and decided she had stayed long enough.
