Biography
He's the son of Elm and Rowan. He was chosen by Almond to replace him as a chaser for the Southstar hunting party.
During a lesson with Linden, taught by Almond, he learned how to use his dark coat to his advantage to hide in nearly any environment.
Hemlock couldn't help but let out a soft whine of impatience while bird-watching, which scared the feathery prey off immediately. Damn, it was the third time in an hour!
After having a few lessons to build up his agility, Almond declared that today they would test just how much Hemlock had learned. Almond pretended to be a very hungry coyote and chased him around the den all morning. The dripping saliva coming from Almond's mouth was a great yucky touch, and Hemlock found himself having a great time evading his 'dangerous' pursuer.
Six days into his training, Hemlock was assigned to train with Brier along with Alder and Oliver. He was excited because he had heard rumors that it would be a hunting lesson. He was a bit disappointed that the day's training wouldn't be involving any biting or tussling but was determined to do his best. Luckily it involved the three of them tracking down some food Brier had hidden earlier in the morning.
The day was finally here. It was Hemlock's last day of training, and Almond would finally take him out and show him how to properly hunt. He was so excited that he could barely stand still. They managed to track down several animals, but each time his excitement would get the better of him, and he'd end up scaring their prey away. Almond told him that physically he was in perfect condition to become a chaser, and his energy was important, but he needed to learn how to focus that energy on the hunt. When they returned, sadly without any food to boast about, Luna made a declaration that no pups were to be further than smelling distance from the den. He voiced his worry to Almond about his upcoming apprenticeship but was relieved to hear that he would still get to join them for hunts, they would just have to stay within the forest for now.
