Alpine the Malign

Alpine possesses a commanding presence that reflects his intellectual prowess. He is a wolf of exemplary posture and towers at a startling height of 90cm, striking fear into those who dare look him in the eye. His gaze is cold and unflinching: a deep shade of icy grey. Despite Alpine's impressive stature his form is only lightly corded with muscle, depending on the weapon of his mind as a pose to his body. His gaunt legs assist in propelling his sylphlike form across the mountainous terrain. He relies on his second in command, Chaol, to execute his grunt work. His coat is a plain grey colour paying tribute to the rocky terrain he calls home. To compensate for his frail build, Alpine is quick-witted and wields a remarkable level of intelligence. Over the years, Alpine has emerged a prodigy of manipulation and deception tactics which he harnesses to persuade others into fulfilling his desires. He praises obedience and blind loyalty above all, and favours the stronger wolves of his pack over the intellectual. Despite his questionable decisions, he always tries to do what is best for those around him. Alpine was the first to create the Alpine Pack, founding it on strength and hardiness with Chaol.

Alpine isn't unaware of the budding affection Chaol has for him, but he is adamant in following his head instead of his heart. He knows loving Chaol openly will only put him in danger of ambitious wolves willing to kill to get to the top. Perhaps in another life they would be mated.

You hear the tumble of rocks to your left, and turn your gaze to a looming rock face. To your surprise, a grey wolf is descending the cliff edge, weaving between jutting rocks with ease. As they approach, you notice the lighter patches of white in their pelt and their dark eyes. "What are you doing in our territory?" The wolf barks, his voice deep and stern.

Another wolf emerges behind a patch of shrubbery. He sweeps toward you, his thickset coat swaying as he walks. "Leave them alone, Alpine." The darker wolf releases a demoralised sigh, and his dark gaze washes over you in curiosity. "A traveller, maybe?" He murmurs.

Alpine growls in annoyance. "But Chaol, what if they're from Grey Mountain?" You wonder what "Grey Mountain" could be - you have certainly never heard of it.

Chaol exchanges a scowl with the male, and Alpine blanks him. You hear a howl in the distance and your ears perk up. "That's our pack! Quick, quick, follow me." Chaol ushers, turning to tail the hurrying Alpine. You are left with no choice but to follow…
