Biography
Red Velvet often struggled to form close relationships with other wolves. Many were frightened of her, due to her unusual appearance. Her red, skull-shaped markings; her hollow eyes and crooked scars; and her brown-stained limbs, which seemed eerily similar to the color of dried blood.
She had something of a rough upbringing -- growing up in a den where pups and young adolescents were often not given enough to eat, and had to quarrel with one another for food. Despite this however, Red Velvet never quite lost touch with her softer side.
She is intelligent and romantic, always eager to comfort others when they are in pain, or tend to her packmate's wounds. She enjoys eating sweet treats found in the wild, such as honey and raspberries, and is also great to snuggle with at night. While her body may be lean and muscular, with a skull and teeth as hard and sharp as jagged stones -- the fur above is as soft as velvet.

Red Velvet sat down in front of Chicken Penne. She was just new, the scent of her prior home not yet gone from her fur. She didn't know what to think of coming here; new wolves could be unpredictable. What if it was a repeat of her puphood? What if she had to fight to survive in this group? She was no longer a helpless pup, but she was not yet old enough to be capable of defending herself fully. It made her scared, but deep breaths... It would help keep her paws from fidgeting.
But the lead remained plopped in her nest, eyes heavy with sleepiness. This was not a very threatening wolf, Red Velvet thought.
Chicken Penne let out a big, wide yawn. "Sorry, been out exploring and it really took the energy outta me," she laughed softly. "You're the new one, yeah?"
Red Velvet would nod silently. The mature female wolf scratched her ear a bit.
"Nice, nice. Just curious, would you say you're interested in healing?"
Again, Red Velvet would nod. "It's an important role," she added, "Any wolf that can do that has my respects."
Chicken Penne smiled lazily. She rested her chin on her paws and looked about ready to fall asleep mid sentence. "You know, you'd fit in well with Eggs Benedict. Don't tell him I said this, but the years are starting to catch up with him. A youngster like you would help make his job easier." She wagged her tail gently. "He's not scary, but you can go see him whenever you feel ready for him. He's the white wolf, sometimes he has scraps of herbs stuck to his fur. Can't miss 'em. I think he's also taking a nap right now."
Just like that, she was given a role in this new pack and they were so relaxed about it too. It was like a sleepy little pack apart from the bundles of adolescents that occasionally barged through the caves making a racket. She was still nervous about going off and seeking Eggs Benedict, even though Chicken Penne said he wasn't "scary". Maybe a walk outside would give her the bravery she needed to meet him.
But she had a good feeling about this new place underneath her nerves.
