Sable excitedly tore open the box of her test unit. A large, metal wolf slid out of the box, alongside a small digital tablet, which the unit was supposed to take commands from. Sable pushed the button on the prototype's ear, turning the test unit on.
PROTOTYPE SENTINEL UNIT TEST1 ONLINE....
SERIAL NUMBER - K81
TEST UNIT READY TO TAKE COMMANDS....
(Note: This is a S.E.N.T.I.N.E.L model prototype unit for the Project Firebird program. If any hardware or software flaws are found, this unit must be reported to Dragon Labs as defective.)
Sable wrote a small command on the tablet, commanding the robot wolf to walk around the small, white room to test if it was working. Instead of following the command, the robot wolf stayed in place, blinking every once in a while, refusing to move.
Sable was confused. Did the code have a bug?
She edited the code, and re-sent the command to the robot wolf. Still, nothing.
Sable was disappointed at her test unit's poor performance. She dismissed the robotic wolf as broken, and left it in her room, as she went to write a letter to Dragon Labs, telling them that the unit was defective.
When Sable left the room, the test unit stood up, reviewing her surroundings. It was quiet. Eerily quiet. The other various entities in the lab were moving, but she couldn't hear a sound. It was time to begin her work. A message flashed onto the tablet, and Protogen quickly picked it up and responded."
"Command received. Project Firebird has begun. I must find and capture the target. Then I will report to you."
The prototype snuck into the darkness, and began her work.
