Redwood was the new guy, an anxious bundle of nerves despite being older. Lots of stuff made him nervous; even being outside could be a little too much to bear on his bad days. It was hard being a Scout or a Hunter if even a bird looked at him wrong could send his nerves into a tight knot.
Life in the pack felt safer to him even though moving to a new home was a struggle within itself. He settled in well within the cave where the Pupsitters looked after the youngsters. It had a soothing, tender atmosphere that made him feel warm and safe inside. It was like being a pup again, nestled against his mother's belly.
Despite not being an official Pupsitter himself (he worries that he might not be good enough), he likes to help out whenever he can. Since Pupsitters have their paws full, Redwood is kind enough to bring food to them. He also goes out to a nearby stream that's not too far away to bring some water for all of them.
Some of the more nervous pups like to snuggle near him when it's time for bed. Ironically for such a nervous fellow, pups might run to him if a nightmare wakes them up in the middle of the night! Redwood also has a knack for making bundles of feathers that loosely resemble animals; pups absolutely adore keeping and snuggling these new toys.
