Sorem, the Incisive

Out before you lies and open field scattered with what looks like old stones arranged in countless squares. What is this place?
"Hello."
You jump about two feet in the air, spinning on your heels to face a midnight black wolf with jaws full of flowers and plants. It takes you a couple moments to get your bearings, and as you, you notice a strong herbal smell radiating from the wolf.
He's a herbalist, you realize.
The male wolf has a soft smile growing on his face, and he places his bundle down, "Didn't mean to spook you. I have a habit of doing that... being melanistic and all," He chuckles, "Seems as if you stumbled right into my harvesting fields. It's fascinating this place, isn't it? Like ancient humans might have built houses here,?" The wolf looks round, pointing with a paw at the stones, looking as if he were slipping into a daydream.
You don't quite know what "houses" are, however.
Suddenly the wolf shakes his head, "Sorry. Sometimes I get off on little tangents. Do you mind helping me carry these back to my den?" He nudges his herbs, "If you don't mind, of course. My name is Sorem, by the way," He says politely.
