Billie was born to the widely respected scout Deirdre, who could command the entire pack into battle if she really wished it so. Her mother served under Phillipa's leadership and became an elder in the early days of Mosikayneeuh's reign. When Billie was born, it was like the same spirit continued on inside her to follow in her mothers' path. Soon she was leading expeditions of envoys into the formidable glaciers to gain spiritual insight, and gained a place in Dahmahaw's council not long after. Her adolescent years were spent becoming close friends with the Cheiftan's daughter Lottie who accompanied her into any trouble or victory. Though she would sometimes get herself into spats with the older Cheiftan, she knew when to back down and know her place. Treating Lottie with great care also earned her a bit more lenience with Mosi, who made it clear that Billie was going to become a contender for the next in line for leadership.
When Mosikayneeuh's last litter was born, it quickly spread across the pack in rumours that one of the pups was going to take the Chieftan's place as the next heir. Billie was not so sure what to make of the quick letdown to a pup just born, as she became a bit irritable at the fact her promise of becoming Cheiftan had degraded so swiftly. Could she get over being pushed to the side for a pup who happened to carry Veraah's blessing?
