Spur Hollow- Home Pack
I'm leaving today on my journey to learn about the the world, may I be guided by the traveler's spirit Kiviuq. I said goodbye to mother and Arra. She's sad i'm going, we've always been inseparable siblings, but I need to do this.
I'm starting on my way to my father's pack home, it's going to be my first stop. I want to truly understand the mysteries of the north.

Eska Creek - My Father's Pack
As I anticipated (or perhaps even intended) I got completely lost the closer I got, despite having wandered these trails with father and Kona. I did not panic. The crystals that my father bestowed upon my sister and I soon grew warm and I knew I was still on the right path. I'd hoped I'd finally meet the great spirit, Kiviuq, but instead, a handsome youth, close to my age, quite literally fell into my path. His name was Nukilik.
I have soon decided that Nukilik was a gift far greater than any spirit. He quickly had my heart.
I could easily go on about the moon touched male but some things are best left only to one mind.
My father's pack has fascinated me ever since I was a pup. There are currently five know spirits to the pack, and depending on the talents of each individual, they devote themselves to one of them. Apart from Kiviuq, who fancies the traveler and scout, I have to say I am most enamored by Tanaraq, the Spirit of the Hunt. She asks a great deal of her devotees, in fact, I witnessed a 'passing of the torch' as the lead hunting team retired and gave their place to a new team. Rumor has it, the head of the team, Artemis, had her coat changed by Tanaraq, looking now more ethereal than ever, to solidify Tanaraq's pleasure with her. The team had to spend an entire winter to themselves out in the glacial lands. Alarming to me, but somehow they survived, I'm sure not without great stories of survival and trial.
I got to meet two other half siblings- Rhea who was Kona's litter ate and definitely the more level headed of the two. She had a wall about her that made me think of my other sister, Cleo and I feared it'd be the same response, but no! She simply seems to be reserved in nature. In due time, we did bond! And I much enjoyed her company. Her and her mate just had their first litter of pups. Two females, one of them looks almost exactly like dad - I pray she also inherits his curious, wandering spirit. I also met my brother Saga, who is rambunctious as Kona but much more reserved to pack life. He is Fable's mate, and it's clear there is not better match.
Speaking of, I met Fable today, the next in line to take the position of Alpha. She just finished her coming of age trial as well. It's a harsh world here and I imagine those that survive these trials merely earn their right to try surviving the rest of their years here.
Aku, whose divine name is much to heavy on my tongue, seems to be the 'mother' spirit, in the sense of, she's in charge of the others. She is the most prominent, but works mostly with the healers and those with…. Different abilities. I briefly met the pack's 'seer' Thea before she wandered off in search of "kin born from the blood moon." I wish I had more time with her.
Akna is the youngest spirit that Tempest suspects may have mortal lineage. I can't imagine how that works, but how lovely a spirit she seems, guardian of pups and a guide for their guardians. She has inspired an entire part of the pack to take in lost and orphan pups that she seems to lead her from miles away.
Taqqiq is the spirit of the night… and the end. To most he'd probably seem frightening but… he is simply another key to life. A council of elders formed under his direction, and I've never seen happier elders, at peace with their final purpose. They are the heart of the pack, really. Tempest consults with their wisdom before making most decisions. Father is part of this group now, which made me pause in my own mortality for a second. He looks older than I remember. I try not to think of him returning to the stars before I see him again, but I still worry.
Speaking of father, he heads his own territory for a variety of wanderers who find themselves drawn to the north, and is in charge of a sanctuary for them. It gives him great joy to chat and hear stories of those that take part in a life he lived so fully.
And yet still. I have not witnessed the spirit of Kiviuq myself. I know I'm not to seek him out but my own spirit feels so very drawn to him.
My last night here, I spent affectionately with Nukilik, who seems to be a bit of a celebrity in the pack despite his tender shyness. We've bonded in the way that mates do… I can't wait to tell Arra! He begged me to stay here with him, too nervous to venture out with me. I'd lie if I said I didn't consider it. But he understands I have a mission and purpose, and that I am my father's son. I promised my heart to him though, and swear I will always be his on a level no one else can come close to.
Father helped see me off the next day and just as I was making my through the pass, a great darkness gave me pause, and…. There! The spirit I longed to see and feel! We locked eyes as I stood completely frozen. I could not move as he approached and placed his nose to my temple. He did not speak yet still I heard his voice in my head … A son of Roamer is a son of mine. I accept the path you've laid out for yourself. You will find me when you need me.
And then he was gone.
The world returned to normal but I? I was filled with burning determination and passion, and the crystals around my neck felt heavy and warm. This was my path! And my path was given Kiviuq's blessing!
I took off again for I do not know where, but it did not matter. I was a seeker of knowledge and would embrace wherever that path might lead me.

Pont-y-Rhedyn
Decor added: Burrows Among the Roots
I next decided to travel south, following the river to a forested valley. I quickly learned that the valley was home to the Pont-y-Rhedyn pack - and thankfully they weren't hostile! Though the scout who found me was wary at first, he warmed up fast when I told him of my mission. He guided me to the pack's central hub, and I was welcomed in with no trouble at all.
This pack is so incredibly old - it was founded over 35 years ago, if the leader is to be believed! Despite this, it seems to be in it's twilight years. There's only a handful of permanent pack members. I swear I met more travellers here than I did residents!
Nonetheless, they welcomed me kindly, and seemed more than happy to share their culture and history with me. The pack leader - the Penadur - is elected; though to my understanding, the current leader was trained for the role from a young age. Every job role is open to all individuals, theres no sense of strict hierarchy. The pack seems to function in a very standard manner, otherwise. In it's peak there was apparently leads for each role, which came together to form a council - the Cymanfa. It's far too small to require such a set up now.
It didn't take long for them to mention the Blaenori. There's four of them - Golau y Wawr, who guides new spirits to the bodies of newborn pups, and Ysbryd y Nos, who guides old spirits from their worn bodies. Ffynidwydden, a pup who herds the Faelcu wisps away, and Maharen, a strange hybrid who guards the valley from cryptids. At first I thought them to be similar to the spirits from my homelands. Imagine my shock when I saw a moss-green pup chasing a wisp down the river!
The Blaenori are not quite like us; they're powerful, ethereal - but they were born mortal, just like any other wolf. As such they exist physically, rather than spiritually. Their powers came at a later point, and with it, seemingly immortality. How this came to be isn't clear. Ysbryd y Nos, for example, joined the pack as a pup, and having always exhibited a divination for death, she simply... never passed herself. Apparently she'd been with the pack since it's foundation - oh, how I'd love to ask her about it! Alas, it wouldn't be.
Still, I did get the chance to see the Blaenori. It was riveting to watch the young pup - Ffyn, as the pack affectionately called him - skillfully round up the wandering wisps. Maharen visited often too, sharing amiable chatter with the pack. She was eager to share her knowledge of the valley, though she was considerably younger than the other spirits, her words were still insightful. And oh, how heartbreaking it was, to see Ysbryd y Nos and Golau y Wawr visit in the same night. It didn't seem appropriate to approach them.
I remained here for quite some time - far longer than I had intended, in fact. I heard that the winter had been harsh for many, and with the valley offering relatively mild weather, I thought I wise to shelter in place rather than brave the storm. Spring brought much fairer weather, and with that, I decided to bid the valley adieu.

Haunting Bellows/ user: Scream #9176
Getting disoriented my mind became foggy. I found myself in new pack territory I looked around seeing mounds like old naive graves. Forest grew around it. It was maze to find anywhere out. I saw few animals like fox and raven which looked odd to me something off about them. Ran into few wolves one stood out. The alpha he almost killed me. Ran from him with his beta he called Wraith tailing me. I couldn't escape him. I was exhausted I stopped to get my breath my injuries making it harder. I met older wolf of pack used to be herbalist doctor and his mate Hydra who warded off Wraith.
Leaf helped me and his mate stood guard over us. Leaf patched me up and I talked to old wolf for hours about herbs and healing. Hydra was not talkative wolf I sensed he had good heart has well. I met Danny Wraith's twin they were complete opposites. I learned about how he was lured here and about the spirit totems I saw before. I learned of his mate Daisuki son of previous alpha who was noble kind wolf before Covolt killed him and his mother. Danny took me to wolf called Tor.
Tor was strange wolf also wasn't talkative either he seemed cagy. Tor did speak to me he said you were very lucky this time. He looked at me as he continued Covolt is a monster he used to not be long ago but things happened he became twisted. We stopped at fast flowing river he pointed across this is where you leave this place. I slowly made my way across with Tor echo voice fading saying let light guide you on your journey may learn of from this and don't look back. River is like life ever flowing we here are not of the light of what the river gives. I stopped to listen at end left when Tor stopped talking. I have more of a open mind to things of not this world no matter what I do I can't explain everything in logical sense. I left knowing I have lot more to learn.

Pack of The Gray Ghost
After crossing the river I headed north again. After traveling across a windy moor I found a forest with huge ancient trees. A sense of uneasyness made my pelt prickle, so contrasting to the warm and lively springtime breeze I was used to at this time of the year. Despite the hostile environment the forest's inhabitants were friendly: after roaming for while a few wolves brought me to their base. They had set up as a temporary camp for a long hunting trip to meet hoards of large prey moving back to their land after the winter, passing through the southern end of their territory. However they were leaving soon to return to their pack. As we were heading there the coniferous trees became even taller, and somehow more mysterious.
There I met the rest of the Gray Ghosts.
I settled in pretty soon, and the Herbalist, Alcinus, took me with him gathering herbs. We had plenty of time to talk about the pack's customs. First of all they had a leader, right now Gentilis , and their successor, a vice, Albida. Together they were called Aureum: they represented the pack and were meant to keep it together in the toughest time. They were choosen and trained by the current leader for the role since they turned 30 moons old: anyone could be a leader but every member of the pack had to agree. The pack was also ruled by the Peritis, the most experienced and wiser wolves for each role and the herbalist themself.
They believed in many scared things: all things had a soul and memories and their sprits passed to each newborn creature to then come back to the environment after death, a cycle. The most scared beings of all however were birds of prey: companions to many wolves they had a symbiotic relationship. The main ones they worshipped were Accipiter the great hunter, Strigidae the wise guardian and Aquila the soaring protector; each newborn puppy was named to honor them.
