eland is a believer in justice. when he was first found, he was half starved and wandering around abel’s territory. when he was asked why he hadn’t attempted to hunt or, at the very least steal from the food hoard, he simply replied that he thought it would be unjust and dishonest for him to do so. abel looked upon that favorably and now he lives in the spire with the others.
he is often quick to judge other wolves. not out of cruelty but out of a deep sense of loyalty to the eld. gabrielle and kane both talk about how he sometimes lets a hunt slip because he believes they hadn’t given it a proper chance to fight for it’s life. sometimes, eland does go to far, but at the end of the day he understands that they must survive.
