Biography
Mother: Kiara
Father: Roamer
Siblings: Arra, Quency, Tojo, Auri
Half-siblings: Kona, Rhea, Saga, Cleo, Vision (unknown whereabouts)
-Shared custody between Spur Hollow and Eska Creek
-Fair and balanced personality, leader of her siblings and gets them into schemes, that Tojo ruins, and Auri gets them out of trouble with
-Sometimes gets annoyed with Tojo but loves him dearly
-
Learned as much as she could about traveling with dad. A little sad to leave home but also beyond excited to see snow for the first time. She loved meeting her other older half siblings, and while Kona and Saga entertained the other two, she was more drawn to Rhea, Kina's litter mate, who seemed more withdrawn and level headed but turned out to be wise and full of knowledge. The two bonded quickly and Hestia hopes she can see Rheas new pups before she goes back to the desert.
Before heading back to the desert, she received a special gift from dad and spent time with Rhea and her new babies. She's excited to return to mom and Spur Hollow and her friends, especially as it grows even colder, but is going to miss Rhea horribly.
-
Once winter came the pups said a goodbye to their father, and Hestia, ever the sharp wit, felt alarmed when she saw a sadness in his eye. Roamer might not make it to next summer. She tried to pretend she didn't see anything for her sibling's sake, but nuzzled him extra tight when it was time to leave.
Once they arrived back at home the three all ran to Kiara and she embraced them, Hestia staying back to chat with her while her siblings went to go catch up with their friends.
Over the winter they were trained with the hunters, Hestia being a natural stalker as she was always a bit of a leader. More and more she felt uncomfortable as Arema, the future leader of the pack seemed to grow more and more short with her every time Hestia proved herself as a more competent leader, but what was she to do?
She loved being home, but found herself missing the Glacier. No one here quite got her like Rhea did, so once it was time to head back she was eager to get started. She felt a pang in her chest when Arema only said a short, professional goodbye to them, but put it out of her mind. The journey ahead was what's important.
-
Returning to the Glacier, with the absence with her father, was tough. A beautiful memorial had been made for him in the lands blessed by Kiviuq. She could see the impact he made on those around him and decided she would strive to do the same. Naturally her first catch up session was with Rhea, where she poured her heart out about the confusing issues with Arema back home. Rhea gave her sound advice that she must be her authentic and true self no matter what. Friendships unfortunately shift over time and it wasn't Hestia's responsibility to make herself smaller to appease others, no matter how hard. It wasn't what she wanted to hear, but it was what she needed, no matter how bitter. Afterwards she enjoyed some time with her nieces, taken aback by how much Asra looked like dad, and apparently acted like him too. Ciska was wise beyond her years, and Hestia found herself having many deep conversations with the youth that she greatly enjoyed.
Her stalker training continued here, though this pack clearly did things differently. Her mentor, Onyx was clearly not much of a leader but Hestia stayed open to her knowledge and teachings, learning much from her regardless. Artemis gave her some one on one time, giving her instruction on leading a hunting team. She admired Artemis greatly, as well as the stories of Tanaraq, Spirit of the Hunt. Would she ever be good enough to capture the admiration of a spirit?
Kona and Rhea helped them complete a full Hunting team so they could practice when they were of age. Hunting on the tundra was a challenge but she lead them with great confidence, leading to Tojo taking down an entire elk! She was so proud of her crazy brother, and watched with admiration as he was gifted with spoils from his first hunt. She was feeling conflicted though. He did so well … was she really deserving of a leader? Was it worth her friendship with Arema? Maybe she should just quiet herself… filled with conflict, she wandered off on her own for a bit. Lost in her mind, she almost missed the huge, glowing she-wolf. It was Tanaraq - she was frozen solid. The Spirit didn't say anything but pressed her nose to Hestia's head. She felt a warm vibration flood through her and then a soft, internal voice settled in her mind - You will lead them well. The Spirit suddenly was swallowed by shadow and a crow emerged, feathers falling around Hestia as the bird circled her before settling on her shoulder. Then the voice returned. My gift to you, young huntress. May he serve you well.
New companion in tow, she made her way back to the pack, only to be met by Artemis, a knowing smile on her maw. Hestia couldn't help but smile back, emboldened some thought still, her mind wandered to Arema. Her hunting trials were done, but there were other trials to come.
She noticed the change in her brother almost instantly though - to see him him from the silly, confident boy from before to … looking absolutely shattered, Auri tried comfort, but … she gave him the advice she felt he needed. Which backfired when he took off on his own early the next morning. Irritated anew, with herself and him, she roused Auri and took off after him.
