Named after my amazing horse, Cherokee. I got Cherokee right before I lost badger, and I swear sometimes badger chose him just for me. Cherokee was sold after he spooked and bucked his rider off, which caused the rider to dislocate her shoulder. After her confidence was destroyed from that she sold him to me, and I at the time was fresh out of surgery for two disc fusions. I had been told that if within a year of my fusions I fell from a horse, I risked being paralyzed from the waist down.
Cherokee treated me like an angel though, and still to this day goes above and beyond to make sure that I am taken care of. I can leave him for a year to be a pasture pet, and then jump on him bareback and in a halter with no problems. If I'm crying, he's right there giving me a "hug" to cheer me up. He's definitely a 1 person kind of horse, and I'm lucky to be that person.
