There may be no other wolf in Silver Skye Pack that has faced as many challenges and persevered as Steele has. He was adopted into the pack after a bout of distemper ravaged his former pack - he was the only surviving pup in his litter, and sadly, the disease took his mother as well. Severely weakened, he nearly succumbed to the disease himself, but he crawled his way to the neighboring pack's territory, and there he was taken in by Shyla and Anorakh. They brought him to the herbalist's cave, and for days, the wolf hovered between life and death - sometimes the wolves swear they could see his tiny spirit leaving his body. The pack did not give up on him though, , and in the warm cave he gradually regained his strength. Since then, Steele has faced many challenges, and he has persisted through them all.

At times he can be prone to saying the wrong thing, and can unintentionally hurt others - Shyla attributes it to him not having littermates early in life. Steele is a trusting wolf, and as his trust has thus far served him well, he has not yet learned to be discerning....
