Moonshine The Traveller:
Being a very newly formed pack, Yena the leader was hesitant to receive the pale wolf that showed up in their part of the forest one day. He was a travelling wolf, he said, and it was customary to let travelling wolves stay for awhile in your pack if happened upon. He looked a bit smug and as if all of this should have been obvious to Yena, but she could also detect some insecurities in him. She shrugged, maybe it was for the best to let him stay for a bit. He said his name was Moonshine, and if he was a travelling wolf he surely had some interesting stories to share with the rest of the pack that could lighten the mood.
It didnt take long before he was put to the test. Trying to dodge as many questions as possible about his adventures and mostly wanting to glorify himself, Moonshine found himself in a strained situation. The wolves poked him with so many questions that after awhile he gave in. "I only left my home yesterday, alright! You're the first ones I've visited and I was so worried that you would turn me away so I didn't dare say anything." He whimpered and shrunk in stature. Everyone turned silent, with some wolves still whispering at the edges of the gathering.
Yena quickly thought it over. She was very new to all of this leadership she had been entrusted with, and she tried putting herself into Moonshines place. Yena was empathetic by nature and she understood the hesitancy from Moonshine to tell the truth.
She took him aside and told him that he was welcome no matter where he came from or where he was headed next. Moonshine finally lit up. The rest of the pack agreed and together they held a big celebration that night, for Moonthine the traveller and the future of Ye'enda Pack.
Moonshine only stayed for a couple of days, but in that time he sure was put to work. Solda got some well needed help with the pups, and Moonshine seemed to enjoy pupsitting. The pups thought he was as cool as any adult, and loved to hear him tell stories, true or otherwise.
The morning that Moonshine left most of the pack was there to send him off. He nuzzled the ones he'd grown fond of, said some sappy words about the future and was on his way. Solda and Yena followed him to the edge of the woods and stood watching as he grew smaller and smaller.
