wolves of the peak are hard to narrow down to just one thing. they typically have an unnatural aspect to them - whether it be something as simple as a mutation, or something much more complicated; as long as the rest of the pack sees them as something to be venerated, they will end up at the top with the others.
this can be seen as a blessing or a curse, as it leads to a more isolated and sheltered life than one would normally live.
currently, the pack has "the hexad," though this number isn't static and there have been more, and fewer, in the past.

now the wolves on the plateau are a much easier topic to speak of. they consist of any wolf that isn't a hunter or sentinel; scouts, herbalists, mentors and pupsitters alike enjoy a life of relative safety at higher elevations.
