Wraith

Where am I? Wraith looks around this mysterious nightly world that seems to light up around him. He starts to walk further and little lit up bunnies hop across his path. He smells earthy but animal like creatures around him. What is this?

Wraith peeks behind a tree and finds the creatures gathered together. They were speaking in a peculiar way that surprisingly, he could understand. He moves closer, trying to ease drop on their conversation "Did you hear there's a mortal here in the Dreamland" The little coyote on a log said with distaste. Are they talking about me. "Well we can't let it stay he could figure out how to use our source of power and use it against us" a bear with an armor like fur and glowing eyes said, Wraith moved closer to where he's just inches away and then he hears a loud crack come from under his paws. He jumps and all the animals turn towards the loud noise with piercing eyes.

Wraith starts to run for it while being chased by weird looking animals. What the hell is going on. He thinks as he makes a quick turn. He starts to hear swishing noises around him like something is following him from the sky. Wraith looks up and smells the air but all his senses are off.

A big magnificent horned owl blocks his path and sits on top of a tree branch, the owl is twice Wraiths size and it looks down on him with a wise and questionable face. "Why are you here mortal, where are you going?" The owl said to him but did not move his mouth is he talking to me with his mind!?! "Yes mortal now answer my question"

Wraith steps forward trying to appear strong and bold "I don't know where I'm at, and I don't want to be here, let me leave this place" the owl scoffs and begins to move closer, jumping off the branch and onto the ground. All the other creatures finally catch up and surround Wraith.

"You will never leave, you know our secret, trying to take it from us. So now you will stay here and become one of us, live as we live, breath as we breath" The big owl signals a small barn owl over and tells him to watch over Wraith and report back to him if he tries anything

One Year Later

It had been a year now and Wraith had changed a lot he grew purple and pink antlers and purple flames, sparks, and essence erupted from his fur, claws, and eyes. He had become accustomed to the ways of the Lunar Dreamworld but still missed home and his mate dearly and everyday tried to figure out a way to convince the animals of the Dreamworld to let him go home. Most days he would sleep so that at night he could listen in more on the animals and talk with the barn owl about if he even had a chance at getting home or discover more of the dreamworld.
After a whole year of planning and waiting the night had finally come for Wraith to have a meeting with the animals so he could try to get home. Wraith was a nervous wreck and even though he had rehearsed thousand of times and prepared himself for this moment he still wasn't ready and didn't know what would happen but he could only hope for the best. As he made his way to the spot he found the animals the first night he appeared here he kept going through everything over in his head not realizing the barn owl was trying to get his attention.
"Wraith! Wraith!?" Screeched the owl.
"Huh? What? Oh, sorry I was thinking about tonight and what's going to happen." replied Wraith.
"Everything will be fine." Assured the owl. "It's been a year now and I've been keeping an eye on you and reporting to them how good you've been doing and with our plan there shouldn't be any reason why they'll say no." The owl calmly said.
"You really think so?" Wraith looked up hopefully at the owl glad that he at least had someone there for him in these strange lands. The owl nods at Wraith and the rest of the trip they fall into a comfortable silence as they make their way to what they hope will be Wraiths ticket home.
As they make their way through the cluster of trees out into the clearing Wraith notices that all the animals have already arrived and they all seem very confused on why the mortal wolf has called them there tonight. Wraith takes breath of air and steadies himself for what he's about to do. He knew everything after this moment would need to be said carefully and he knew he couldn't show how scared he was.
"What is this about mortal?!" The horned owl yells.
"I've called you all here tonight to have a very important conversation." Wraith bravely says. "I've been here for a year now and have done everything I've been asked of and haven't tried to leave or attack any of you I've been good and respectful and all I ask in return is that I can go home please. All the animals start yelling and arguing that he shouldn't leave cause he will bring others back while others think he should be let free cause he will just learn more and more and escape eventually why not save them the trouble now and others just think he should be put to death.
"I have a mate waiting for me at home please you guys got to understand how that must feel for the both of us!" Wraith says pleadingly.
"SILENCE!!!" The horned owl screeches. Everyone quiets down at once and looks up at the giant owl waiting for what he has to say. "We've been keeping an eye on you and my owl friend here has been reporting back to me on everything I will have a discussion with him and the Elders to decide what will happen to you mortal." The owl says.
As the Elders and the barn owl go to talk Wraith can't help but feel like all eyes were on him just waiting to get the go ahead to tear him apart. His heart was racing and he was preparing himself to run and find his own way out of here if he had to. Minutes seemed like hours until finally the Elders returned and the barn owl came and perched on his shoulder with an blank look on its face not giving any emotion away of what was talked about or how things went.
"We have talked and come to a conclusion." The Elders say in unison. "You've done really well and have followed all of our rules so we will allow for you to go..." They try to say
All at once all the animals break into chaos. Everyone's yelling and arguing that Wraith will destroy them all and bring back others and take their power. It looked like some animals were about to launch themselves at Wraith against the Elders wishes but then the big horned owl let out the most eat piercing screech ever. All the animals covered their ears as best as they could trying to block out the noise. Wraith put his paws over his ears and cowered low to the ground.
"There will be none of this!! We have spoken and you guys will listen to our commands!" The owl yelled. " Like we were saying before you guys interrupted he will be free to go but his barn owl guard will go with him and make sure he doesn't speak of our powers and he will have to come back once every moon cycle to check in and speak with us if these rules are broken you will be trapped here again and we will hunt you down." The owl says sternly looking at every animal until his eyes rest on Wraith.
"I accept your deal and will be here once every moon cycle." Wraith calls out happily. His tail starts to wag and he can't help but show how happy and excited he is to go home. As the meeting ends they take Wraith to the gate that enters into his world and tells him he just has to lay there go to sleep and he will be back in his own world and to come back all he had to do was to go to the same spot he wakes up at and sleep there.
Wraith lays down and immediately falls asleep as he wakes up everything is dark and he immediately realizes he's in a cave somewhere back home again. All his memories start coming back and he remembered that he had chased prey into this cave and got hurt so he took a nap and woke up in the Dream Realm. Wraith makes his way out of the cave and races back home to his pack hoping they would still be where they were and would still take him. As he enters into the clearing he can see his Alpha Artemis laying up on the rocks sunbathing and he runs to her immediately. As he gets to her she jumps up confused and startled wondering what was going on.
"Where have you been for the past year we thought you took off to be a loner!" Artemis growls.
Wraith tells his story and leaves out the part of the animals having powers and just told them he couldn't get back out. Most of the wolves didn't believe him but then Artemis looks at him with curiosity and tells him only Alphas can get to that world and couldn't understand how he could get to this world only the Alphas have seen. Then just as everyone is welcoming Wraith back he hears his mate Storm cry out with joy. Wraith turns around and sees Storm bounding up to him with tears in her eyes.
"I thought about you the whole time I was gone trying to just get back to you and be here with you. You kept me going when I thought I couldn't." Wraith whines happily.
Storm doesn't say anything just jumps on him and smothers him with kisses and cuddles. He was finally back and knew his life would be different now but he knew he'd figure it out. A bit later he goes to talk with Artemis and explains to her as best he can without giving away anything to explain he has to go back once every moon cycle to check in. She gives him confirmation to do so and then calls a meeting.
"You all know by now that Wraith has returned from a Realm called the DreamLands and has been gone for awhile and it looks like the DreamLands have changed him slightly also and for his bravery and will to get back to us he shall be known as The DreamWalker!" Artemis howls out.
All the wolves start chanting DreamWalker and Wraith can't help but feel very prideful and mighty and knew things were going to be wild.
