Maverick

Maverick is a very humble, strong, kind, caring, loving, and intelligent pack leader, who also knows when to be firm, when to be strict, and when to take action. He has a huge heart, but he doesnt allow others to take advantage of his kindness. He prefers to keep the peace, but will bear arms and fight when needed in order to keep his his pack and pups safe and out of harms way.

His mother and father before him were bonded mates and the pack leaders of the Bleu Ridge pack that he was born into. In the first 6 months of his life, his parents taught him well and what it means to be a great pack leader, and a great father, friend, and mate. Unfortunately, while out exploring one afternoon, tragedy struck and his pack was slaughtered. In the midst of chaos, and snarls ripping through the air, his mother let out a painful and sorrow filled howl. Maverick was about 3 miles away, and had raced back and was completely heartbroken, shocked, and bewildered at the scene that was layed out before him. Everybody...was gone... His mother had whined painfully and called out for her son. As Maverick ran to her side and lay there beside her whimpering and whining, she spoke with a shaky breath "My sweet boy.... It is time for you to carry on, my son. Never forget what we taught you, and no matter what, do not let your heart and mind be clouded with darkness.... You will find love and happiness again. I just know it.... Promise me Maverick, that you will not give up. Be good, my baby..." and with one final breath, she said "... Never forget, that we love you and are so proud of who you are... We will see you again someday... Goodbye, my son..."

With a lump in his throat and tears running down his face, he curled up next to her and layed his head upon her neck, and said " I love you too, momma.... And....I promise... I promise you that i will do good... I will be a good wolf, I promise you and Dad both...... Goodbye momma."

Maverick was completely torn by the death of his parents, littermates, and pack mates. But even then, he had promised his mother that he would carry on and to not succumb to the darkness, that he would keep going, start a pack of his and be the best pack leader that he could be, and find love while doing so.

Even though everybody he knew was gone, he didn't let that tragedy darken him. Instead, he learned from the experience and learned to be more compassionate and cherish the moments with those who are important to you, because you never know when the last time will be.

He knew how alone and hard it was for those that were orphaned, lost, banished (but needed a second chance), so he made a promise to himself that he would bring those in need into his pack.

Turning his back on those who needed help, or wanted a fresh start in life, was not who he was or what he was taught.
