A Leader Born, But Not Crowned
Since birth, Blaz shown promised of strength, intelligence, obedience, and having great reliability amongst the other pups in his father's pack, including his twin brother Daz. Appearing similar to their father, both Blaz and Daz held a brown base with cream markings, yet Blaz has his father's golden eyes while Daz has his mother's deep blue eyes. The pack inhibited deep in the southern region called 'The Holy Wolves' held a custom, were the wolf who inherits the rare signature cream blaze between their eyes is titled the pack leader. The current leader of the pack was gifted with twin boys, both having the customary cream blaze markings. Thus, honoring them with the capability to becoming the next leader of the Holy Wolves, yet hindered them as a challenge for their father in deciding who to crown. Although Blaz was already showing prime leader material in contrast to his brother Daz, their father announces otherwise during their coronation as an adult. "We celebrate this day, in crowing our new leader of the pack. Both my sons were blessed with the blaze mark, but only one can be crowned today", their father spoke high above a rock ledge, announcing to the many others bellow and the two bowed sons in the center of the gathering. "I see all my children as equal, and never seek to favor one from the many I have. Therefore, this decision was not decided on favoritism, but was decided for the greater future of this pack. With that being said, I hereby declare Daz as the Holy Wolves newest pack leader." The gathered howled in celebration, while Blaz, with flatten ears of fear, licks his brother's muzzle as a sign of acceptance of differentiation in his lower rank to his new pack leader. Daz wages his tail in glee and excitement but also flatten his ear in fear for what will happen to his twin brother, for it is a custom practice to either end, strip titled of, or chase away the uncrowned. Understanding customs, Blaz goes to leave the pack but is stopped by his father who approaches the center gathering, "Although we heavily follow custom practices left by the elders long ago, I sentence a new practice for the uncrowded twin barer of the blaze mark." Having spoken, the entire pack silence and Blaz once again bows in front of his father's paws. "My son will have the opportunity to leave this pack and begin his very own. But hear that he is not abandoned by the Holy Wolves, for in times of need and shelter he is always welcomed back. A great leader is not always crowned but can be crowned for their own." And with that, the pack howls in agreement and congratulations Blaz on becoming his own pack leader, grateful that a promising leader would strive to create his own pack. Blaz nuzzles his father as a thank you, turns to his brother with an alike nuzzle, and with excitement, runs towards the nears territory edge. For once Blaz steps outside the pack's line, he will have begun his first steps as his own pack leader.
