Cavern’s Depth

She was running away from the hole she and her brother, Oriole lived in. Where was he? He had run away claiming something about bringing a bear back to eat, but he never came. Now is not the time to worry about him. He's probably safe. What she did need to worry about was the back of dogs that just ravaged their home. It was hard to see in the snowstorm, but as she saw trees in the distance, a figure appeared. It was big and bulky as it moved slowly along the ground. Maybe she could ask whoever that was for help! She ran faster, this time aiming for the figure. Then, when it was too late, she realized it was a bear… and it was already standing up to bash her on the head with one of it's big paws. The bear's paw came crashing down and she shut her eyes closed, ready for it to happen… but there was no pain. What? She risked opening her eyes and realized she was quickly being carried away from a wolf bigger than herself. The wolf turned sharply and ran into a clearing, dropped her in a cave and turned around with a sharp bark. Suddenly, wolves came rushing out of the surrounding caves. She couldn't watch whatever else was happening, she had to stay hidden. She sat at the back of the den when a wolf with glowing spots came up to her and sat down without a word. Weird… Then, after the noise was gone, a wolf appeared at the cave entrance looking breathless. "Hello, pup." She smiled and came in before licking Cavern's fur on her head. "Who are you?" Cavern asked the wolf, taking a step back. "My apologies," the wolf said, "I'm Quiet Paws and I brought you to the Shrouded pack."
Oh! She knew she heard about the Shrouded Pack somewhere.
"You look tired," Quiet Paws observed, "How about you rest, you are in a safe place." She dipped her head and left the cave, leaving the area mostly quiet. Cavern hesitated before lowering her head and curling up. She left one eye open for a while, pretending to sleep, before actually drifting into a peaceful slumber.
Pawsteps outside woke her up and she raised her head to see an orange pup being dropped into the cave. It took her a moment to recognize him, but when she did, her heart was filled with happiness.

When it was time for her to get her pack name along with her brother, she was very confused as she did not know what it was. When all the wolves in the pack were called, she came up in front of the leader. "It is time for the test to commence." Ice Runner called. She and her brother completed it and her name was changed to Cavern's Depth, though she preferred to still be called Cavern.
