Whispers of a wolf of old run through the mind of this young female.
"Go forth young one, seek the destiny not any wolf can become. Read the signs of the Stars and guide them with the Star Wolf's Paw aiding you on. The scent of freshly grown herbs of lavender, fireweed, and much more fill your senses. May the Wolf of the Stars light your path."
Waking up from the dream, Spark rose her head alert and surprised within the walls of the Nursery. Her gaze moving around with bright gleaming new eyes scanned the den. Beside her, her mother River snored softly as she slept through the Afternoon Sun as Spring rose into the middle of it's prime season. Snow was still scattered loosely along the camp clearing, becoming slush through the day and hardening into ice by nightfall. Dew dripped off the icicles just above the entrance as the sun's warmth melted them.
Beside her, Spark noticed her littermates sleeping soundly still in the little mount closer to the rear belly fur of their mother as the milk scent of all nursing mothers laid within. The Sitters otherwise known at the Den Mothers, sat just outside watching the older pups interact with the apprentices as they arrived within the camp from training at early dawn.
Spark looked over to her identical twin, Ember, hearing her snores drift into her ear as she gave a bored sigh. Moving her paws, she pawed her sister, rousing the identical pup to tiredly look at her with one eye," What Spark..? I'm sleeping..." She grumbled tiredly as she rolled from her back to her belly. "Wanna go out and play? I'm bored." Spark asked, her tiny milk teeth glinting as she let a soft yawn pass through to prove a silent point. Ember gave her a stare as she sighed," Momma wouldn't be happy if we left the Nursery without her knowing... even if the Den Mothers watched us." Ember reminded her matter-of-factly. Spark puffed her cheeks before swiveling her head away,"Fine! Guess I will go do it myself!" She snorts, getting up and waddling on her small barely formed legs towards the entrance. Her sister rolling her eyes before curling back up to sleep a tad more.
