Biography
Skaði: Means "damage, harm" in Old Norse. In Norse mythology she was a giantess (jǫtunn) associated with the winter, skiing and mountains. After the gods killed her father, they offered her a husband from among them as compensation. She ended up marrying Njord.
Skaði was born to Morrígan in her last litter and was fathered by Oreo She was one of 16 across her mother's litters. Skaði was named heir of the Blackcreek Pack as an adolescent, and at 2 years, 2 months old, she inherited the pack when Morrígan passed through the veil to the stars, joining her ancestors and past pack mates.
The ascent of a new Alpha was always bittersweet, marking the death of one wolf and the rising of another. The mornings were always filled with grief and mourning, with tributes paid to the deceased from dawn until noon as the Elders, heir and blood relatives arranged the burial site in the shadows of the ancient trees. Once the deceased had been buried, the ceremony recognising the rise of the new alpha takes place followed by celebrations long into the night.
Not long after taking on the mantle as Alpha, Skaði met Lasher as a lone wolf eager to make himself a home within a new pack after leaving his own and wandering the lands. He accepted Skaði's invitation to join the pack and soon made himself useful as a pupsitter. Skaði made the effort to get to know the many wolves in her pack and slowly built a bond with Lasher.
As the days turned to weeks, the pack elders encouraged Skaði to seek out a mate, someone to pair bond with to ensure the bloodlines would continue and an heir could be chosen for the future. After assessing the pack and all the potential matches, she eventually approached Lasher, her decision fueled by the bond they had built and the desire to bring new blood in.
It didn't take long for her first litter to be born, giving her 2 sons, Väinämöinen and Sláine . It would be unlikely that either of her two sons would take over the pack as Skaði is only young herself, but it never hurt to ensure an heir was available as a cautionary measure if the worst ever happened.
