Naturally defensive of their litter, Onyx and Slate were distrustful of this male, but he quickly showed them his gentle side when he almost instantly gained the trust of Leo and Dapple. Following this, he deeply blamed himself at Leo's death, and as such separates himself from others even more so than the other wolves, burying his guilt with the unconditional love of Cubs.
