Personality
At first glance, Kiba seems to be an aloof and distant individual who always keeps his cool. He takes great pride in being a wolf, and dislikes humans for the mass hunting and killing of wolves. He's constantly on the run, having learned well how to fend for himself.
Despite having a calm disposition, he can have a temper and tends to be impulsive; acting mainly on his instincts or his "heart", rather than his head. . Kiba's prideful disposition makes him untrustful at first but he can let it slide if he feels he has a connection with someone.
He is also very courageous, always willing to save and protect his friends when in danger. Having lost his family long ago, he knows what being alone is like, and he vows to not let anyone close to him suffer the same fate.
Background
When he was a pup, his pack and family burned in a dangerous forest fire caused by humans. He was then raised by a Native American shaman. The shaman told him, "The lunar flowers had sheltered him from the flames, because they knew he would find Paradise." And that he had "A great journey ahead of him."
After becoming an adult wolf, Kiba begins his quest to find Paradise, he does it in the hope that he will find a future.
Story
Meeting Tsume
In his journey at the mountains he heard the howling of another wolf -a male one- given the scent. Ahead he saw a gray wolf with a scar across his chest. They were cautious of eachother until a group of hunters fired some shots. They barely escaped with life, thanks to the wolves' coordination.
Despite some initial misgivings and suspicions, they decide to stay together, the gray wolf -named Tsume- not having any place to go recognized Kiba as leader and decides to follow him to find Paradise.
