RAUTHRAFA
      ↳ [ ROWTH • rah • fah ] meaning : ratfolk

     | | taller and lankier than most wolves of the split, and less bulky. originally from further south, where the winters aren't quite as dreadful as they are in the mountains, rauth eventually left his birth pack and trekked north-east below imposing heights of the snow-capped peaks. somewhere along the way he'd happened across his littermate tauf, and he was more than happy to see his brother. apparently tauf didn't feel quite the same way— they spent just shy of a week at odds, with rauth being chased off by snapping jaws repeatedly only to come loping back with his tail wagging within hours each time. eventually tauf relented; they made it to the split in the mountain together, establishing their territory's borders.

     | | today, though rauth has somehow solidified his role as pack "leader" over his more dignified brother, he's consistently kept in check. nothing happens within the split's borders that rauthrafa doesn't know about. lone trespassers are more often than not run off, with just a couple of exceptions: vabroth, an older male who showed promise during a hunt when rauth and tauf were most desperate for food, and njikr, a take-no-shit female who just happened to mesh with rauthrafa's...challenging personality.

     | | the first two pups that rauthrafa sired by njikr unfortunately didn't survive past their first few weeks. both were first-time parents, young, inexperienced, and mostly dealt a bad hand in the form of complications during birth and one pup having a cleft palate which hindered its ability to suckle. the first pup died suddenly in its sleep. the second starved. rauthrafa was taken aback by the misfortune while the mother mourned, but life goes on. they've since taken in a few orphaned pups— first gid, then brosi and søsast. and all three showed promise of a fruitful life, much to rauthrafa's jubilation.

     | | the split will be a successful pack with a strong lineage no doubt. already they've exhibited their strength of will and their desire to thrive. rauthrafa is just the wind at their back.
