Rock'fur ran, and ran, and ran some more. He loved running, but one thing he loved more than that was the open sky. He looked up at the deep blues and shades of black freckled by golden stars with stories of their own behind their sparkling starlight and wondered what it would be like to soar through the night and be a part of its stories, it's community.

He let his eyes fall shut, letting raindrops pelt his fur as he ran, a smile creeping onto his muzzle and his tail wagging. When he opened them again, he skidded to a stop by a tall rock. He looked up at the earthen spire, a light rivaling the stars above him sparking to life in his eyes. He was going to climb it.

He could do it! He was certain, anyhow. He grinned, scampering up it and kicking loose a few stones as he climbed claw over tail to the tiptop of the towering rocks. He felt like he was on top of the world, closer than he'd ever been to the sky! He enjoyed the feeling of the wind in his fur, then lifted his head and let out a long howl.

Somewhere under the spire, another wolf joined in with his howling. A she-wolf, it seemed, with fur like murky, muddled ice. She looked up at him, and he down at her, and it took him a moment to realize he'd run straight into another pack's territory.

"Ah, sorry! I must have wandered a bit too far…"
His ears fell, and he hopped down to bow his head nervously to the she-wolf. She just smiled.

"It's alright," She assured. "I am known as October of Mind and Heart in my back. There, I lead them."

She flicked her tail towards the horizon.

"If you aren't too eager to leave, I could offer you a place to rest before your departure?"
