Nightshade met Hop in the middle of the forest and was quickly taken by surprise by how quiet the she wolf was and sought to get to know her better quickly agreeing to join her pack once this was done he found himself befriending a young adolescent called Root who turned out to be Hops son, their friendship allowed him to grow closer to Hop and once he did so he quickly fell in love adoring her for her careful leadership and constant worries about her pack mates.
