Akela

You see a blue gray male with light red markings sitting on the edge of his territory, accompanied by a blue male with a cream face and a puppy with a striking white splashed face.
He stands up, his fur slightly bristled. "did Azalea invite you?"
"Yes, something about food." you reply, relaxed.
The male nods, his fur going back down. "pardon my manners. i'm Akela, this is my half brother Blitz."
"And i'm Lupis!" you hear the puppy bark at you, wagging his tail so hard his entire body moved with it. "He's my dad!" he proudly announced as he leaned his shaking body against Akela.
Whether or not you care for pups doesn't matter, why was this wolf taking his young son to the border of the territory? he is far too young for that kind of adventure.
"I see that. you look like him." you comment.
"Thank you! When i'm big i wanna be a healer!"
"is that so?" you amuse the pup, as Akela and Blitz slowly guide you to their pack,
"Yeah! sometimes when my mom comes back from doing cool adventures, she comes back hurt and it makes me sad. i don't want her or anyone to be hurt!" Lupis told you, hopping around your feet happily.
"healing others is very important." you tell him.
"that's what my dad says! in the morning i wake him up and tell him that we need to go look for herbs, again and again and again until mom kicks him out bed!"
you look at Akela, now seeing how tired his eyes are. you hear him chuckle to himself, and catch a glimpse of Blitz holding back a laugh. suddenly you're interrupted again by Lupis excitedly barking at Akela.
"Look dad! there's some feverfew!" he yaps, running towards the plant.
"go get it." Akela encourages him.
the three of you stop and watch the puppy carefully pick out the feverfew from the ground. he turns back, smiling at his dad as he runs back with it dangling from his mouth.
Lupis stops at your feet and stares at you for a moment. "Here!" he happily barks before he drops the herb at your feet. "you can have some!"
"that's very kind of you Lupis." Blitz remarks.
"are you sure?" you ask the pup.
"Yeah! my mom says to give kindness when you can! and this is the first time i can!" he starts wagging his tail again. once again, so hard his entire body moves with it.
"thank you." you lean down and pick up the feverfew.
"you're welcome!" he happily barks.
"i'll apologize in advance," Akela starts, his eyes locking with your's. "he's going to talk your ear off the entire way there." he looks down at his pup. "will you try not to?"
"ears can fall off if you talk too much to someone?" the young puppy asks, his eyes wide in surprise.
"yeah they do, and your dad's are barely hanging on." Blitz says, before Akela can correct his son.
the puppy nods and starts walking towards home.
Akela and his brother laugh to themselves, you join them as well. pups will be pups.
you follow the three wolves, in silence. well deserved silence on Akela's end.
