Cardinal was roaming the lands of the mountains, near my old home, when I called out to her. She eagerly joined my pack, but I was a little concerned. The she-wolf seemed weak and frightened, and I soon knew why. As we were travelling back, several wolves ambushed us. Apparently, her former pack, the Bloodmoon Pack, made sacrifices to their moon gods in exchange for good hunting. Cardinal was to be the next sacrifice because she was born with the "moon mark" on her face, but she escaped and ran into me soon after. We fought them off together, and our bond has been strong since. I made her a scout because of her keen eyesight and selfish attitude. She doesn't like group work, so I figured she would like to work alone. She's developed some comradery with Shrike, but she's nearly a stranger to the rest of the pack. Cardinal's eyesight is some of the best I've seen, and I can't help but wonder if the moon mark has given her some sort of power. Of course, she abandoned her former moon gods and follows the stars, but, sometimes, I see her gazing at the far peaks with the moon rising above them. The silver light bathes her scarlet marking, and I wonder if she doesn't long to be up there, so close to the moon. One night, she came to me in a trance, speaking about the mountains and a prophecy. "To one who watches, all will be known. In the peaks, you will find your new home. When full moon breaks beware, the one who watches will always be there." After reciting this several times, Cardinal passed out. I immediately took her to Oriole's cave and told her of what had happened. Oriole interpreted it as a sign that we must move to the mountains or great tragedy would befall our pack. I knew what I had to do. I went to the mountains at night and killed every member of the Bloodmoon Pack. Now, our home would be safe. It took an incredible toll on me, but we moved swiftly, carrying our young safely to the peaks. Cardinal seems more at home now, and her face markings shine brighter than ever. I can't help but wonder at the power the moon might hold.
