Despite her beefy stats and determined eyes, Dust was still given to Micah for only 3 measly pinecones. The trader didn’t seem to mind the low price, they were looking for less mouths to feed anyways.
“I’m starting to think 10 silvers is a high price for anything..” A large dark brown she-wolf muttered beside as she stood beside Micah and Dust
“Shut up, Umber.” The gold lead wolf snarled slightly as he looked up from the pup, “We still have company around us..”
Umber simply rolled her eyes before turning to start the long walk back to camp, not bothering to wait for her leader or the young puppy. Dust stared after her, a little perplexed by the lax nature of the she-wolf around such a snappy leader. The older female must have been very brave.
“Don’t pay Umber any mind, let’s get you back to camp.” Micah huffed before picking Dust up by the scruff, mindful not to let her drag on the rough ground. The walk was mostly silent till the three wolves got back to camp, Dust was left in Umber’s care after that.
“Micah might come off as scary, but you need to stand your ground around him…” The dark wolf lifted her head and looked around quickly before glancing back down at Dust. “I’ve seen your stats, play your cards right and you’ll be hunting with me in no time, it’ll keep you off of Micah’s radar.”
“His..what..?” Dust asked, her head tilted in confusion. So much was happening so fast today, it was hard to keep up with it all.
“You’ll find out in good time.” Umber sighed before walking towards the pup-sitting den, “C’mon..”
Perhaps this pack wasn’t all it seemed to be...
