After his fathers passing his brother Takota was supposted to take over the pack but he and his mate Atari were going through the loss of a pregnacy so the pack decited Afka would take over. He was extremely overwhelmed and decided he wanted a council to help him. He later appointed Avani to be the spokeswolf for the pups & pupsitters, Kaleidoscope for the Hunters, Soot for the Scouts, and Thorn for the Herbalists.
Later Soot retired and the position was left open for a while. Thorn also retired passing his spot to Cheeto
Afka soon had his first litter of puppies (Ballou, Tanu, and Fire Pelt) he was scared for their safety and declared no new wolves were allowed into the pack for the foreseeable future this made the rest of the pack, especially those without a mate, VERY angry leading to many leaving. Soon the pack was only the royal family and some close friends. As the puppies grew into adolescents Afkas rules started getting even stricter, his pups were to be followed by two pupsitters at all times this made them mad and they would often sneak away.
Before long the pack was nearly half the original size and most members were unhappy about the loss of friends. They were also struggling to complete jobs that are important like hunting and scouting, due to lack of wolves. Around this time Fire Pelt ranaway to a neighboring pack leaving his father distraught. Finally Afka reduced the strict rules allowing some (few) new wolves to enter the pack Tanu also started following a scout on their every mission and Ballou started following his mother on hunts now that his father lessened the rules.
A few moons later a new wolf showed up and Tanu introduced him as her new mate Afka hated that and declared every new wolf MUST be approved by him from now on but Avani convinced him to let this one stay stating that one of their pups had already left and it would make her very upset to lose another right before the birth of her current litter.
