Odysseus

Odysseus was a natural hunter from a young age, his strength making him an excellent finisher. He also had a commanding yet paternal presence that yeilded itself to pupsitting in his later years. He was mated for a few years to a lovely chaser, but she died young from distemper, causing him to leave his pack in search of a new life. It was in the Elysian Fields that he found that new life, becoming friends with nearly everyone in the pack, even the standoffish Calypso. There he met his mate Penelope, a kind hearted pupsitter that quickly fell for his confident charm. The two pupsat together and quickly became close through long talks. He would tell her stories of his hunting days and she would tell of her tumultuous puphood in which she moved from pack to pack. The two became pairbonded and had Telemachus, to whom Odysseus passed on his confidence, and Penelope her steadfastness. Throughout this time, Calypso, who he had befriended when first arriving at the pack, became very clear with her motivations. She gave no regard to his mate and family and wanted his affections no matter the cost. He distanced himself from her as best he could. Later, when Helen's home pack began attacks on the Elysian Fields to retrieve her, Odysseus fought bravely to defend his pack from the onslaughts. He then planned a clever ambush that became a success, freeing the pack of the costly conflict. Shortly after this success, however, Odysseus was kidnapped by Calypso, who led him into the woods and had a bear's help to trap him in a cave. He was held for what must have been weeks. Calypso would come to visit him, trying to speak with him as if nothing was wrong. He would beg her to free him, and in return she would demand he break his pairbond with Penelope and become her mate. Odysseus worked tirelessly, night after night, to dig a tunnel to the outside of the cave. Eventually, he always hit rock. Then one night, while Calypso talked incessantly at him, he simply ran past her. The bear that guarded the makeshift entrance was after him in an instance, but some ungodly strength kept him going, just ahead of the beast. Calypso screamed as he took off, howling as he grew further away. At some point the bear gave up, but still he ran. He ran until he couldn't anymore, and then he collapsed on the ground in a heap of heavy breaths and aching muscles. That was when he realized, he had no idea where he was. Maybe if he was a scout, he could have found his way back home. He cursed his day of hunting and pupsitting, wishing he had instead learned to navigate the stars and had learned the lay of the land around him. Instead, there was nothing left to do but wander until he found someone, anyone, who could direct him back home. Rules Please set Odysseus in roles like finishing and pupsitting.
