Flame Pool was always more loved by his mother than his father. Golden Swirl was a distant father, often gazing sadly at Cody or Alaska. Flame Pool would catch his mother staring at his father sadly and sometimes she'd cry herself to sleep. Flame Pool made quick friends with the twins Swindler and Courier, Courier and his mate Maple Sap were lovely along with their daughter Raspberry but Swindler.. there was something about her that drew Flame Pool in.
Jackdaw Swoop explained to her son that he loved Swindler and he was delighted until Swindler found out and quickly rejected him so she didn't lead him on. Flame Pool sought his mother for comfort and she reassured him he'd one day find love.
Flame Pool was a bit happy that he and Swindler remained friends instead of parting ways after their awkward conversation.

Jackdaw Swoop passed away peacefully in her sleep and Flame Pool was devastated and Jay Mask had to give him herbs to calm him down. Golden Swirl almost looked relieved but he was also sad, he tried to converse with his only son but Flame Pool shrugged him off, almost attacking him.
Flame Pool is grateful that Swindler comforts him most nights after his mothers death. he is sad as he still loves her but he knows it was never meant to be so instead he cherishes their friendship.

Flame Pool was saddened by the death of Golden Swirl, his distant father but with Swindler comforting him he couldn't stay sad forever. he feels guilty that he caused Swindler and her new mate Kota to get into an argument and tries to avoid being seen with Swindler whenever Kota is around

Flame Pool was there to witness the deaths of Cody and Alaska and he couldn't help but feel glee that the two wolves that caused his mother so much pain, were dead. he felt awful afterwards but that overjoyed feeling still stayed.
