"Another wolf, hunted for sport." Navir spat, the fur along her spine raised in agitation. This was the third one they had encountered this year alone. She spoke of the pack along the eastern river, where the devil himself seemed to spawn the most bloodthirsty demons he could find. Evil incarnate lay in the hearts of those wolves.. that was the only possible explanation she could see for such unfathomable violence. What wolf in their right mind would hunt down another? For enjoyment, no less?
The first two wolves that had been chased were soon proven invaluable to the growing pack, but the third...
"He nearly tore Vespaer apart!" Qiran growled. "He and the rest of those scouts came back a bloodied mess- against one wolf. Imagine what a pack would do."
"They're a threat." Navir nodded her head in agreement with her partner's assessment- but what should they do? They were a reactionary pack- it was not in their nature to provoke, not only because they saw the futility of petty arguments in a territory that is already scarce in resources, but because they were small in number. More pups than hunters, and yet they still kept picking up stragglers.
"As long as we have food to feed these hungry mouths, we can and will provide." It was non-negotiable to the alpha.
It had made her so proud, watching her mate choose kindness when leading. She was knew to the alpha title, but she had been born to be a leader. She could see it in the way she stood, the way she spoke. Navir had fallen for her quickly.
