Rose Paws had always loved herbology.

She pestered the herbalist day and night, asking about this plant and that, until the poor wolf had had enough and requested she be his apprentice. She almost thought she was dreaming, until he bapped her on the nose and asked again.

She nodded eagerly, thanking Owl's Call over and over again. She spent hours remembering herbs to the utmost of her abilities, challenging herself time and time again to ensure she understood the role of an herbalist. When Owl's Call eventually died, and returned to the stars, she would take his place, not as an herbal apprentice, but as a true herbalist. She'd heal her pack all on her own, with only her memories and the very patient bear --- that had nearly given her a heart attack upon first meeting him --- to guide her.

She vowed to be the herbalist her pack needed, especially after Owl Call's unfortunate passing. She'd make him proud. Just like the former herbalist, Mossi, had been proud of him.
