Biography
Needs: lunar oak crown and tailwrap (completed look)
Being a minor god, Aleph's domain is more niche than the greater domains of the major gods. As the God of Groves, Aleph is the caretaker and guardian of such spaces, representing sanctuary and safety. In his sacred groves, all mortal wolves are welcome. Demons cannot cross the threshold, their mortal vessels unable to step forward into his domain. It is with this power that Aleph established the Garden of the Gods, a great grove amidst the glaciers of the north where he himself has descended to the mortal plane. Tired of the gods' so-called benevolence while practicing inaction when it comes to their believers, Aleph has decided to come down and do it right himself.
It's important to remember, though, that immortal though they may be, the gods are not infallible, nor invincible. Here in the mortal world, they can get sick and injured. Aleph found this out the hard way. He made many mistakes too in the early days of establishing his pack, struggling with the capricious nature of mortals and the very real issues of not only maintaining the sanctuary he desired, but making it thrive. Especially in a place as inhospitable as the very northern edge of the world.
Still, Aleph refused to give up. And with each screw-up, each mistake, he learned. His dream solidified from the nebulous "I want this to happen" to "I want this to happen, and X, Y, and Z is how I'll do it." Working together with - not above - his mortals, they've built the Garden of the Gods into the kind of place Aleph could only dream of in the heavens. Aleph could make the location, could establish the sacred grounds that kept demons at bay and made illness harder to contract, but it was the mortals themselves that made the sanctuary. That together made it a community where both god and mortal could flourish.
Naturally, this also made for the perfect conditions for demigods to come into the world. Due to being a god, Aleph's views on having kids is…off, to say the least. If you ask to have one with him he'll have one with you, not many questions asked. Love doesn't really factor into it, not for any mates - at least, so far. Seeing the pairbonded in his grove and hearing the God of Love, Leto, describe such things as soulmates makes him yearn for the same, but as of yet, there's been no spark, no flame. No romance.
That doesn't, however, mean he doesn't love his children fiercely. And he does. While demigods are generally forgotten about - if they're ever thought about at all - by the gods with the obvious exception of Leto, Aleph expected to care for them as he did any other mortal, but nothing more. He'd never had any before coming down to the mortal plane, after all. But the moment his first child entered the world, the moment he first beheld the puppy from his godly blood, everything just. Stopped. The world fell away, and for the first time in his existence, the God of Groves saw a being he'd give his very soul for.
Leto understands. How could he not? Love is love, whether it's romantic, platonic, or familial. And Aleph has a lot of the latter two to go around.
