Cherry Blossoms: A Blooming Flower
Cherry Blossoms is a peachy colored pup born to alpha Cherry Root. She has shiny brown eyes and sports a speckled nose. Like her brother, her mother saw potential in her to become a great alpha, and she took a liking to her second daughter because of this.
Like the rest of her littermates, Cherry Blossoms was sent away to another female who was nursing a litter at the time so she could grow up happy and healthy. Their mother was pretty old when they were born, and she didn't have the time or the energy to care for her pups. Blossom was first sent to Snow Speckles, a more respected sacrifice of the pack. Because her litter was due to finish weaning in less than a month, Blossom only spent two weeks with her before Cherry Root gave her to Delta Aquarii who gave birth just a day before Blossom turned two weeks. Cherry just knew that Delta would help lead her daughter to greatness, and she felt pretty confident that Delta will teach her daughter well while she is under her care.
Once Cherry Blossoms and her siblings turned a month old, they were able to see each other and their mother again for a few hours. Blossoms was rather eager to meet all of her family, especially since she rarely got to see her own mother. At their family reunion, Blossoms got to talk to her paternal grandmother (Kumo) and see her younger aunt and uncle. She even got to see Queen Daybreak (Cherry Root's grand aunt), and her two newborn daughters. Blossoms was happy to meet all of her family that was in the pack, and it certainly wasn't small. Even her great grandfather Ura, from her father's side, is still alive, and she got to greet him too.
Wilting Petals and Rotten Cores
Cherry Blossoms would have never suspected her brother for intentionally killing Shiruku or Skyberry. He treated his sisters nicely enough, aside from the minor fight he had with Shiruku. But Blossom doubted Golden Sun's concerns about Akira being a murderer. Sure he accidentally poisoned Skyberry, but it was an accident! Cherry Blossoms believed in her brother. She believed he wasn't a bad wolf. He just made stupid mistakes in his life.
Nothing could prepare Cherry Blossoms for the shocking reality during a cool fall afternoon.
Gore Warning Ahead
Cherry Blossoms and her great grand uncle, Nooman, were following Akira and Golden Sun in secret. They had followed the pair all the way to the Deciduous forest. Blossom didn't exactly want to stalk her brother and cousin, but Nooman was getting jealous of the two. Blossom just thought he was overreacting and being a bit... Possessive over Golden Sun. Sure the two were fated to be mates when they grew up, but the two had other things to worry about than love at their age. At least that's what Blossom thought.
"What do you think they're talking about, Blossom?" Nooman looked forward, glaring at Akira and Golden sun in the distance. "I don't think they're talking, Nooman..." Cherry Blossoms and Nooman would've heard the pair talking from here, but Akira and Golden Sun had been walking in silence the whole time. The pair came to a halt near a cliff, and that was Blossom and Nooman's cue to hide. And hide they did.
As the two spies listened in on Akira and Golden's conversation, they were able to gather that the pair was planning on hunting a cougar. A corrupted one. This made Nooman visibly upset, but Cherry Blossoms warned him not to expose their location yet. Although they couldn't see much from their spot in the bushes, what they heard next was enough to make both of their hearts sink.
The sound of falling rocks. A cry of warning. A loud thud. A loud crunch.
The spies feared the worst when they heard these series of noises. Cherry Blossoms volunteered to go first as Nooman remained in the bushes, slowly getting closer. Once Blossom was in her brother's view, she gave him a look of worry as she spoke with concern.
"Hey- uh.. I heard a thud over here while I was scout training. Did something happen?" She didn't want to reveal to her brother that she was spying on him, so her words were chosen carefully. Akira gave her a polite smile in response, which was rather off-putting to her. "A few rocks fell, that's all," he replied in a calm tone, walking towards Blossom. Her ears pinned as she backed up from Akira, eyeing him warily.
"I'm not sure I buy that answer, brother. I heard you call out to someone before the rocks fell." Akira seemed to tense up at this, but quickly relaxed, brushing off Blossom's concerns. "It was just a turkey by the cliff. I scared it off with my bark before it could get squashed!" Akira kept up his friendly attitude as he brushed his head against Blossom's neck. Cherry Blossom snapped her jaws at him in response, hopping back. Her brother was a bit surprised, but didn't seem to phased by her sudden snap.
"I smell blood," Blossom murmured, looking towards the cliff. She knew he wasn't telling the truth, so she decided to head over to the edge of the cliff to see what she could find at the bottom. Before she could even reach the edge, Akira bit down on her tail. She let out a yelp before whipping around. She pinned her brother on his back, giving him warning bites to the face and ears with a snarl. "Don't bite my tail again!" The peach pelted adol let out a huff, turning back towards the cliff. Akira didn't give up yet as he continued to bite and tug at Blossom's tail, to the point where she had to kick him away just to reach the cliff's edge.
The stench of blood was heavy in the air. So was the scent of Golden Sun. Cherry Blossoms hopped down the small cliff, jumping down from the rock to the forest floor below. As she moved over to the front of the rock, she saw the paw of Golden Sun sticking out from under. Around it was a pool of blood- her blood. She was dead.
Blossom stared in pure shock. She was her best friend. Now, she was crushed to death. Blossom slowly turned to face Akira who had hopped down from the cliff. "You.. You killed her..." Blossom just looked at Akira with horror on her face. How could her brother do such a thing? Was it really him that did it? Was it truly an accident? Blossom wasn't sure what to believe anymore, but the harsh reality was slowly starting to sink in.
"She was a threat to my position," Akira replied in a cold manner. There was no emotion- no sympathy in his voice. That was the voice of a heartless killer, not the brother she once knew. "So... So that means you-" "Yes, Cherry Blossoms. I killed them too," Akira took a few steps towards his sister. Blossom was quick to back up, shaking with each step as tears swelled in her eyes. "H-how.. how could you," her voice was cracking up from the flurry of emotions she felt in that moment. Rage, heartbreak, betrayal. Cherry Blossoms could never forgive her brother for not only killing Golden Sun, but their sisters as well.
"Now that you know the truth, I'll have to exterminate you too." The pale blue wolf suddenly lunged forward at Blossom, who just barely dodged his attack. She yelped, running as fast as she could away from the area. She didn't dare look back as Akira trailed closely behind her. She didn't want to die. Not without exposing his secrets first. But it seemed like Akira was driving her away from the direction of the pack's territory. It didn't matter. If she was able to escape him, then she would find a way to bring him justice one way or another.
Cherry Blossoms ran for nearly three hours straight, heading from the Deciduous all the way to the far North of the Grasslands, near the mountains. She almost collapsed from exhaustion near a mountainrange, and only then did she realize that Akira was no longer on her trail. She was exiled by her own brother.
Blossom could only hope that he wouldn't harm their other cousin, Radiance, or even Nooman. This 8 month old now had to fend for herself in the wilderness, all alone.
