Rhoam encountered a pack desperately searching for food during his travels. He approached with caution and offered a freshly caught grouse to one of the hunters. The wolf thanked Rhoam and trotted over to a young wolf watching with pleading eyes. The pup seemed hungry but reluctant to take the food as there was so little for her elders.
Rhoam looked on with a quiet sadness, when he was approached by their pack leader. "Our adults are starving to keep our pups fed, perhaps you could take one in?"
He readily agreed and after further discussion he vowed to help the wolves to the best of his ability. With Rhoam's team of hunters they were able to aid in bringing down a large elk. Plenty for the hunters and the struggling family at home.
After delivering the prey the packs continued to travel and hunt for several weeks. During that time Rhoam grew fond of the selfless puppy he encountered the first day.
When it was finally time to depart the puppy followed him home to Hyrule with a full belly. - The sadness was gone from her eyes at the promise of never going hungry again!

There was a group of pups close to her age in her new home. They readily accepted her and she was very happy. But the puppy had a sense of longing because she did not yet have a name.
Rhoam knew it was bothering her and was racking his brain as they set out for trick or treating that night. Willow…Thicket… he considered…but nothing was quite right.
As the night neared its end Rhoam caught himself staring at a den sign with sleepy eyes. "Thistles Den" he said out loud with a yawn.
At this the puppy sat on her haunches and wagged her tail. Rhoam questioned her sudden excitement as they hadn't met or received anything from the wolves. "I like that name!" she exclaimed as her tail continued.
Rhoam thought for a moment and met Ominis at the door of the den. "Happy Halloween" he said as the pup wiggled her way past him with excitement.
"Hello! Hi! My name is Thistle!! Trick or Treat!!!"
