Koti

Koti was born as the only pup to Kayuh during a harsh winter. Despite the cold and lack of food, she thrived and ended up staying in the herbalist's den. She learned about different plants until early spring when it was warm enough to move her to the oak den where most of the wolves stayed. As an adolescent, she was one of four wolves hand-picked from Ember, the former queen of Dawn's morning pack. They were chosen through a series of challenges, including knowledge of the territory, tracking, and combat. Koti excelled in all aspects except combat, where she faced off with Elio and ended up almost dying from her wounds. After spending three months recovering, Ember allowed her to study to become an herbalist for the pack.

Late one night, she saw Elio sneak off and follow her, witnessing her talking to a human. When she rushed back to inform the others, Elio lunged at her, grabbing onto her throat and damaging Koti's vocal cords. Elio didn't want to kill her since Ember had chosen her to be the next herbalist. On their way back to the pack, Elio told the pack that Koti was attacked by a loner wolf but she managed to fight it off. A few weeks later, Elio was officially the queen of the pack, but Koti, unable to speak, silently stared at her from the herbalist's den, regretting not taking action sooner.

A year and a half later, Koti got her first prophecy dream of two bucks fighting: one had a black coat and the other had a pure white coat. With a quick clash of the white one's antlers, the other one faded away. Koti saw this as a vision that a wolf would overthrow Elio in due time, leaving Koti with hope.
