Moose held out for a long time before allowing herself to take a name. The most defining event of her puphood was the death of her sister to their first winter, but Moose hated the idea that the rest of her life would be chained to the memory of her dead littermate who would in turn be reduced to yet another parable of caution. She finally picked a name that alludes to a creature her sire met while scouting, but which means "the awe and respect you feel when faced with a massive power; walk softly and take care for you are never the biggest or scariest thing in the woods" (Moose).
Moose is always pushing forwards, always chasing something. She doesn't like idleness, and can often be impatient with herself and others. She needs to have a job to do; she needs to feel useful. She doesn't like to stop and think about why that might be.
