Biography
-----
Nimera didn't grow up with the Red Marauders, she was born in a tribe called Mohegan.
The alpha of that tribe is like a brother to her, along with Kenai's actual sister they all grew up together and were inseparable. Until Kenai took on the role as the tribe's Alpha. Everything changed, the tribe got closed off and it had been Nimera's dream ever since they were pups to go out and explore the world. Kenai knew this, and still he refused to let her past the territory's borders. Eventually she had enough and confronted her best friend about locking her away, about denying every wolf in the tribe their freedom. The argument got quickly heated until Kenai had to shout
"ENOUGH, Nimera! I am the alpha, you will listen to what I say." with the alpha's final command he left her alone in the last rays of sunlight. Shocked by his words she was deeply hurt.
Nimera left the tribe the same night.
In a years time she spent every waking moment doing what she always longed to do; explore! She saw new places, new creatures, and everywhere she went the sights and sounds and smells were never the same. It truly was amazing. She learned about every new location from travelling alongside other wolves heading to and to their own tribes, sometimes helping out with hunts and getting a small reward to keep her fed. But they all eventually had to return to their tribes and even though she new that from the start, it still hurt her a little. They all left her to travel on on her own, and eventually Nimera started to feel lonely. Not even the new sights and smells would be enough to excite her, the cheer had left her steps and without really knowing it she had already begun to travel back north. Back home.
When she finally returned, she found ruins. The Mohegans were gone, and all that remained were bits and pieces left behind of her former tribe. She tried picking up a scent, but they had left a long time ago. There was nothing to find. In her sorrow she laid down in the shambles that once was her hut and drifted off. The next thing she knew she was ambushed and taken away in chains.
The Red Marauders had found her on their territory, and she was to be punished by being left to rot on the centre isle. But she never made it there, when Alpha Snake saw her beauty he claimed her for himself. Instead of enslaving her like she had thought, he instead showed her the tribe, explained about their strength and cunning, but Nimera wasn't particularly interested. All she wanted to know was what happened to her tribe. Alpha Snake told her they left about a year ago when they claimed the territory for themselves. Every tribe had done so, but none as well as the Mohegans. They had covered their tracks well and the marauders had since not been able to locate them.
Knowing this Nimera felt both sorrow and relief, she wouldn't be able to track down her old tribe, but neither would the marauders.
As time went on she and Snake truly fell for each other, something she once never thought possible. His strong resolve didn't show his kind heart he kept hidden deep within. Only when they were alone would she be able to crack open his protective layers and find the kind, loving wolf she fell in love with. She liked to call him Bear not only for his unusually deep and rumbly voice, but because of his strong, warm hugs and soft way of speaking, things he only did for her.
He would do anything for her, and she felt the same.
She sometimes wondered what life would be like had she never left the Mohegans, would she ever have been happy? She couldn't imagine a life without Snake and she was happy with the marauders. Even though their ruthless ways kept her on edge, she would do anything to protect the tribe. Both of her tribes.
As fate would have it, the marauders finally found them.
All she was told was that a big raid was about to happen, she was never told the details before the raiders went out. What surprised her was that Snake was among them. He rarely went with them.. Unless, it was personal! In her sudden realization she demanded to know where they were headed, picking up their trail she dashed in top speed after them. She arrived not a moment too late. The raiders had the tribe surrounded, waiting in the shadows, the Mohegans would never have time to react before it was too late. Alpha Snake had a small group with him coming in from the front, a diversion, a very personal one. Nimera rushed to get to Snake before he made it over the hill leading down to the tribe, she pleaded for him not to hurt the tribe but she was ignored. She leapt in front of him as he made it to the hilltop. She swore on her life she would never forgive him for this, there are many things she have learned to live with, but not this.
"If you do this, I swear to you that no matter what you do to me, I will never be able to love you again!" The Alpha took a long moment to consider her threat. "Bear, please, don't make me hate you." she had meant to say it with certainty but it came out as a whimper. She was relieved when the Alpha gave a defeated sigh.
"The things I do for you, I swear you'll be the death of me.." he replied and they walked down the hill towards the Mohegans below. Not to raid the tribe, but to warn them.
When they made it nose to nose with her former tribe's alpha, her happiness to see him again was replaced with dread as he spat "you stole her.. fucking BASTARDS!" Nimera was quick to try and defend herself but with a warning growl from Snake, 'I do the talking', she took a step back. He had agreed not to hurt the tribe, she didn't dare make him change his mind.
"You may think you're safe from us, but we will always be watching, waiting in the shadows." Some of the surrounding raiders growlingly took a few steps out of the dark trees, proving his point. Snake raised his voice, not only to sound more intimidating but also to make sure all of the marauders heard him clearly;
"No harm will come to this tribe, you have my lady to thank for sparing your souls. But know that if you step out of line, if only once, I will not give you a second warning." the last bit game out with a loud and clear growl. The Mohegans were spared that day, but they were made enemies forever. Nimera prays Kenai will forgive her, but deep down she knows it's too late to ask forgiveness.
Many years have passed and Nimera had a gorgeous daughter. Snake wanted to name her after a strong and resilient animal, something to strike fear into their enemies! It didn't take long nor a lot of convincing for Nimera decide her daughter's name, she had always loved birds and on her life's travels she had seen so many different varieties of them, but none as elegant and lovely as the dove. They were also a symbol of calm kindness, and although Nimera knew Dove would have to grow up to lead the marauders one day she hoped with all her heart she would change things for the better, and not lead the tribe into even deeper bloodshed..
Snake spent all the time he could teaching Dove how to be strong in preparation for her first winter, and both he and Nimera realized pretty early on that Dove wasn't the strongest, and it looked like she might not ever be. Whenever it was Nimera's turn to take over the teachings for the day, instead of just repeating Snake's lesions like she was instructed to do, she tried to find out what Dove's actual strengths were. Her daughter was incredibly smart and cunning, so building on that they trained in secret how wait until the right moment, observe the opponents weaknesses, and most importantly; know when to retreat. Dove would never be able to win every fight that would come her way, staying hidden and being smart about when to show yourself if her best change at survival.
As winter approached Nimera was incredibly nervous, but she had faith in Dove that she could make it. Her smarts could only rival one of Nimera's old friends, and with that thought she knew she would be just fine.
