Changes during Norman's rule:
+ Permanent residents now wear various robes, cloaks, and jewelry.
+ Secluded Caverns changed to The Outcrops:
Formerly the "Secluded Caverns." The permanent residents of the Southern Sea Province used to have their nests in a cavern located deeper in the mountain. As the generations have passed, these wolves have developed much thicker fur and larger-builds more suited for their glacier home. They decided to move out of their elaborate caverns and move out into the open.
Their nests, made of seal pup, muskox calf, and stoat fur leftover from their many hunts in the glacier, are very soft and warm. During the colder months they tend to bring out additional pelts from their hoard to insulate their nests. These new nests are carefully tucked beside boulders and other large rocks on one of the many mountainsides they call home. They are not very well hidden as they are open to and encourage interacting with wolves who have ventured into the massive glacier territory.
+ Quarantine Nests changed to The Roost:
Formerly the "Quarantine Nests," for many years it went unused as the pack remained too small to require any ill wolves to be quarantined. Treatment is fast due to the pack's small size - and an ever present herbalist and frequently updated stockpile (herbs and medicine alike).
It is now "The Roost," completely restructured by the pack to be used as a nice nesting site close to the pack's main cave. These nests are set aside for wolves who will not be staying permanently, whether they are leaving of their own accord, are to be surrendered to the enclave, or they are waiting to join a new pack through the trade center.
It is a decent sized one-room cave in one of the many mountainsides the Southern Sea Province has called home for generations - its nests are made of seal pup fur leftover from the pack's many hunts in the glacier. Muskox calf fur is kept around the cave's entrance tunnel for additional insulation during the colder months.
+ Added cave - The Between.
((A future cave for immortals, whether they be lethal mutations or important to pack lore.))
+ Pack name changed to Glacial Outcrops.
The Southern Sea Province has created their own culture and history independent of the clans they originated from 48 years ago. Norman and his generation ultimately decided to change the name of their pack to reflect how far they've come.
"Changed Pack Name from Southern Sea Province to Glacial Outcrops at the Grove for 1 GC."
+ Added cave - Chambers:
Within the mountain range that the Glacial Outcrops pack calls home, there are many cave systems. Most of these go untouched due to the small size of the pack, their enjoyment for living on the outcrops of the mountains rather than inside, and the large expanse of the mountains.
The Chambers are a network of open caves, all connected by decent sized passageways. These rocky chambers are very cold, but not as cold as what is further down. They are not very difficult to reach and it is difficult to get lost as they are all connected and there are only two (three, but that one is a secret) entrances to these mountain caves. You can only go lower by travelling through obviously narrow tunnels and holes, so there has yet to be any deceased or missing wolves who have passed through.
When in use, the Chambers are provided with nests made of the same material as seen in the Roost: seal pup fur leftover from the pack's many hunts in the glacier. When any of the Chambers are in frequent use, muskox fur is kept around the tunnels and line the bottom parts of the chamber walls for additional insulation during the colder months. During the worst winters, the muskox fur may also be used to cover the floor of the chamber to aid against freezing paws.
All in all, there are seven chambers - five of these are quite large, able to house 7 wolves comfortably and can hold 18-24 when crowding is necessary. The other two are quite small (able to house 3 comfortably and can hold 6-8 if crowding), and one of these chambers contains a hole that leads deeper inside the mountain. These chambers are not very deep within the mountains with only one that exists below the flat lands below the mountains.
+ Blood descendants of Solverna are now marked by the 🌠symbol.
((This is being done as I may one day retire the bloodline due to the accidental inbreeding. This line was being bred mainly for stats and now a lot of them and fellow pack members share an ancestor in a wolf named Ravenwalker. As of Norman's generation, the only breeding options I have in the pack (that are not his siblings) are also descendants of Ravenwalker. It will be a while yet before I fully retire the line as I would want to commit to a breeding project, and right now I'm on a slow grind to unlock achievements and reach various other goals.))
+ Non-blood relatives of the Solverna line are now marked by the â• symbol.
((Includes mates, adopted pups, & the offspring of the pack leader's mate.))
+ Added cave - Worm Holes:
The Worm Holes lie beneath the Chambers. They are many winding tunnels just barely large enough for a full grown wolf to crawl through. It is pure rock and dust, and lacks any natural light.
+ Added cave - The Fields Below.
The Fields Below are quite literally the fields below the mountains where the pack resides. The wolves that live in this field ultimately do not mingle with the rest of the pack. They mostly just live on the territory, sometimes for very short periods, and only occasionally contribute to the pack's welfare. These wolves are provided bedding and furs from hunts when additional warmth is requested.
((Note: currently being used for attempted lethal mutation breeding with NBWs. Non-mutation pups produced are trained and moved to the Roost to find new homes elsewhere.))
+ Added cave - Peaks.
The Peaks are the peaks atop the mountains the pack lives on. Currently no wolves live there, though the pack leader and 1-3 pack members will patrol them twice a moon.
+ Added cave - Boulder Dens.
The Boulder Dens are a large collection of boulders at the base of the mountains closest to the main pack's nesting site. Pups and adolescents that are not permanent residents, nor are leaving through the Roost, live here until a certain age in which they are either delivered to the enclave or are chased from the territory.
+ Added cave - The Banks.
The Banks are snowbanks that exist along the back of the mountains the pack inhabits.
+ Added cave - Borders.
The borders of the territory.
