This pair grew up together practically out of the womb. Their mothers were pregnant at the same time and very good friends, which made for an interesting birthing season as they gave birth just a couple days apart. Their family unit consisted of both mothers and fathers and both litters, being raised together alongside each other. They spent their first days curled up together and being adored and loved on by four parents. Their puphood was filled with love and they didn't stray very far from each other. Even after opening their eyes, they stayed close as they grew up and learned to speak. While their parents were close, their pups were all even closer. Growing up together they all only knew love and friendship, treating each other as siblings despite coming from different parents.


Going into adolescence, Chrysoberyl and Sunlight were inseparable. They did everything together, even though Sunlight was a bit more laxadazical, Chrysoberyl didn't let her lay around all day everyday. Though when Sunlight began to see stars in her vision, Chrysoberyl was quick to be at her side as her vision slowly turned as white as her eyes did. It was unknown what cause the blindness, she could still see general shapes and shadows. But losing the colors of the world had been something that she had trouble with. But Chrysoberyl dedicated himself to helping her accept her new reality.


He would go as far as to describe everything for her, spending hours some days describing the sunsets and dawn, the gorgeous colors or the night sky, and even reminding her of what she herself looked like. As they grew older, his descriptions became more about how beautiful she was, comparing her to the sun her pelt was named for and the moon her piebald intertwined with the sun patching of her pelt. She came to appreciate him as more than just a friend, and especially as she decided she would pursue herbalism.


It took a little convincing of the pack's herbalist to accept her as an apprentice, but with Chrysoberyl's help, together they made an excellent team. Sunlight's sense of smell had become heightened when she had lost her sight and made for very precise measurements of herbs in remedies, she knew exactly how a paste was supposed to small or feel like, all Chrys had to do was put the herbs in front of her that she needed. She was also adept at choosing the freshest herbs, what herbs were what, and even came to being able to decipher different illnesses by smell. Chrysoberyl was her paws and eyes, she was the expert. When she took over for her teacher, the pack had come to know her as one of the best in all of their history.


Chrysoberyl was content to help his one true love, and Sunlight couldn't have though of anyone else to be at her side in both her role and as a life partner. When she had first started losing her sight, she had thought she didn't really have a future except perhaps as a Pupsitter or worse, just someone that had to be taken care of. Things had worked out so much better than she could have hoped. And she felt on cloud nine when Chrysoberyl asked her to be his mate. They'd spent their whole lives together, and she accepted immediately.


"I'll spend the rest of my days with you. Just promise tell me I'm pretty everyday." She joked as they nuzzled one another. Chrysoberyl laughed and nipped her ear.


"I think I can accomplish that. You are very pretty~" he murred, nudging her along to their den where they embraced with each other to make some puppies.


Sunlight wouldn't see her puppies open their eyes, but Chrysoberyl was always sure to tell her about each one everyday. What they looked like, what they were doing when not curled up to her belly to eat, how gorgeous their blue eyes were when they first opened them. How one pup took after her and another after him. They would spend their days tending to the pack and their own children~ Chrysoberyl dedicated to his mate and their kids, and Sunlight always taking lots of time to lay about.
