Artemis joined the pack when she over heard Proxima in the trading center talking about needing a scout. She was only an adolescent but show enough promise to Proxima and Circinus that Artemis was taken in.
Artemis admired Circinus and aimed to be as good of a scout as she. As she got older and gained more skill Artemis had a thought about having puppies and she decided to become pack mates with Icarus, who had just joined. Her reasoning was purely making good quality puppies.
Her Firstborn Paris was a disappointment to her but she hid her feelings and when Centauri asked to take him in as a Herbalist apprentice Artemis was delighted to have him out of her way. Icarus didn't agree to any more puppies when he noticed Artemis' need to only have qood quality pups instead of being a loving mother to them. He asked Proxima if he could disband on the grounds of his and his sons mental well being.
Disbandment was granted and Artemis lost it. She decided to seek a breeding male from outside of the pack and found one, that is when Asteria was born. She calls Asteria her firstborn.
One of her pups Loimu was such a disappointment to her that she was ready to chase her out as a 4 month old puppy. This ploy was discovered and Artemis had to testify in front of the Ylähuone. That is when all of the worried pack members told Proxima how badly Artemis was treating Paris before and now Loimu. Artemis tried to manipulate Loimu to tell the Ylähuone that "She was just being emotional and that everything was fine" this did not succeed and Artemis was demoted permanently and Loimu went to live with Circinus and Vela.
She has now lost her privileges and cannot have any more puppies.
