Biography
Name means moose Łoś
Dec. 23rd, 2023
Łoś wandered the woods, lost and alone. His mother had died after eating bad meat and they weren't part of a pack, so Łoś had no where to go. He looked around but saw nothing but the dark vastness of the forest. The trees seemed impossibly tall and the moon shown down creepily. The light from the moon cast an eerie shadow across the leaves on the forest floor. Łoś stopped to look at the leaves and found one with a small bit of rain water gathered in the middle. She looked closely and saw her own reflected. She looked tired, and she was. She had been wandering the forest alone for days. She didn't know where to go and let out a howl of frustration. After a few seconds, she heard a howl in response. Her eyes lit up and she realized there may be hope. She let out another desperate howl, a signal for help. The far away howl came again, confirming that the pack would come and help her. She waited patiently, her small eyes welling with tears of happiness. After all this hardship, maybe she would find happiness again. She heard the patter of paws on the ground as the wolves approached. A grey wolf came forward and introduced herself as Wryn. She said they would help Łoś and raise her. The Wolven Angels even had other wolves who looked like Łoś, she had never seen so many patchy and piebald wolves. Sometimes they were kicked from their packs, and it seems they came to the Wolven Angels where they were accepted. One of the piebald wolves, Storm, noticed her staring. Storm appoached Łoś and looked at her deeply before giving her a lick on the forehead. Łoś felt cared for, though a bit wet after Storm's kiss. Łoś whined in appreciation and they started their walk back to the Wolven Angels. Suddenly, the forest didn't seem so scary anymore. The hooting of owls that once frightened her, now added a nice harmony to the silence. The moon that seemed so ominous now looked bright and beautiful. The crunch of leaves beneath her feet didn't annoy her like it used to, but made her more excited with each step to be closer to her new home. The col wasn't nearly as bad anymore either, as she nestled between the wolves who had come to meet her. One of the mentors, Eureka, made her way to Łoś and nuzzled against her. They both wagged their tails in a moment of peace as Eureka told Łoś she would be okay. Slowly, the trees thinned out and there was a small clearing filled with wolves. The clearing had a small campfire in the middle. On the left, there were piles of meat for the dinner including deer, cows, birds, and rabbit. Łoś took a deep breath and after not having a meal in so long, she ran forward and dug into the first rabbit carcass she saw. At first some of the older wolves looked at bit surprised at her rudeness, but Łoś couldn't help it and she was starving. Their faces softened as they realized how hungry she was and some even came to join in on munching on the carcasses stacked next to the fire. After getting her fill of meat, Łoś made her way over to cave and beyond where there was a small creek. Łoś sniffed the water, testing to see if it was safe. Eureka came up to her and told her the water was safe, and supposedly had healing properties according to the herbalist and Xinyan. Łoś took a deep breath and stepped slowly into the water. The water was cool on her paws, but also very refreshing. She shuddered a little as she got deeper into the water, both due to the wind making her wet fur a bit chilly and due to the fact she had never been swimming. Eureka seemed to pick up on her nervousness and waded into the creek to join her. They walked together until Łoś was on her tiptoes. She accidentally drank a little bit of the water, but surprisingly the water was incredibly refreshing and she found herself taking large gulps of it. Eureka snorted softly, her version of a laugh, and told Łoś she should start feeling a lot better. And it was true, she began to feel her muscles relax and her anxiety fade. She dunked her nose under the water and blew bubbles, just because it seemed fun. To this Eureka snorted again, enjoying watching Łoś enjoy herself. Łoś shook in the water a little, allowing the cool water to clean her fur from days worth of dirt and grim. Afterwards, her and Eureka made their way back to the shore. They climbed out of the creek and shook the water off themselves, creating sprays of water over the bank of the creek. Łoś let out one final shake and looked to Eureka, who informed her of the best tree to scratch her back on. Łoś told her thank you and trotted off in search of the tree for a good scratch, feeling joy for the first time in days. Eureka watched as Łoś trotted away and she felt like this little puppy would be okay, she was filled with hope for this tiny soul and looked forward to watching her grow.
